Rafters look to even up season the series with the Loggers

La Crosse, Wis- The Rafters fell to the Loggers 7-1 Thursday night at Historic Witter Field. After a 66-minute rain delayed the start of the game, La Crosse jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning and never looked back. Chris Falwell took the loss for the Rafters, while Ryan Marks picked up the win in relief for the Loggers. Wisconsin Rapids moved to 13-15 with the loss, while La Crosse improved to 17-13 with the win.

The Rafters look to split the two game series with La Crosse as they send out the right-hander from Dublin, Ohio Adam Hall (Xavier) to the mound. Hall is 1-2 with a 3.41 ERA this summer. He picked up the first Opening Day win in Rafters history against the Woodchucks on May 27th, and has looked strong all season as opponents are only hitting .220 against Hall in 2015. Graham Speaker (Quincy University) will toe the rubber for the Loggers. He is 2-1 with a 7.71 ERA for La Crosse this summer.

Wisconsin Rapids will head to Madison tomorrow for a weekend series with the Mallards. The Rafters then return home for a day-night doubleheader against the Eau Claire Express to conclude the first half of the Northwoods League 2015 season. Tickets are available for all remaining Rafters home games, call 715-424-5400 or go to www.raftersbaseball.com.
