Rafters Finish Road Trip with Win in Kalamazoo

Wisconsin Rapids evens up season series against the Growlers in 7-4 win

                    

Kalamazoo, Mich- Wisconsin Rapids won its final game in Kalamazoo today by a score of 7-4. Jake Johansmeier picked up his fifth win of the summer, while Adrian Morales (Rochester College) took the loss in his debut for Kalamazoo. The Rafters with the win moved to 6-5 in the 2nd half, while the Growlers fell to 4-10 with the loss.

 

Jake Johansmeier (Eastern Illinois) was very good again today for the Rafters, going 6.2 innings in the win. The Rafters offense looked good again as well, as it was another team effort at the plate. Ernie Clement (Virginia) and Nate Easley (San Joaquin Delta CC) both had 3 hit days at the plate. Clement had a double with 2 RBI’s while Easley had a triple and 2 RBI’s. Dustin Woodcock (SIU Edwardsville) had a two hit game and two runs scored to help propel the Rafters offense as well. Justin Kelly (UC Santa Barbara) was great in his 1.1 innings of work, while James Davitt (Bryant) recorded the final 3 outs in the ninth for the Rafters.
