Seth Mullis and Jack-Thomas Wold are the newest signees for 2018

Team Roster

Today the Rafters announced the signings of catcher Seth Mullis and infielder Jack-Thomas Wold. Mullis and Wold play collegiate baseball for the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV). Last season, UNLV shortstop Bryson Stott became the single-season hits leader for the franchise. The Rafters are hoping for similar results from the incoming duo.

“We’ve had a strong partnership with UNLV and look forward to that continuing this season,” said Rafters GM John Fanta. “We look forward welcoming both Seth and Jack-Thomas to the organization.”

Seth Mullis is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound catcher in his junior season for the UNLV Rebels. The Frisco, Texas native played his first two collegiate years for Grayson College. In 56 contests with Grayson, Mullis hit .348, collecting 70 hits, 25 extra-base hits (14 doubles and 11 home runs), batted in 49 runs and scored 40. Last season was a big year for the backstop as he posted a .361 average, 66 hits, 12 doubles and 10 home runs and was also named to the NJCAA Region V All-Conference Team. Baseball is in Mullis’ DNA as his great grandfather, Charlie Cozart played baseball for the then-Boston Braves in 1945.

Jack-Thomas Wold is in his freshman year with the Rebels. The 5-foot-10, 205-pound first baseman and outfielder is a native of Henderson, Nevada. Through 13 games, Wold has a slash line of .271/.327/.458 to go with 13 hits, five extra-base hits (three doubles and two home runs), nine RBIs, and five runs scored.  A four-year letterman in baseball at the Basic Academy of International Studies, Wold was named All-Sunrise Region Player of the Year as a senior. Wold hit .460, 10 home runs, 13 doubles with 45 RBIs and 36 runs scored. Jack-Thomas’ father, Mike, played collegiate baseball for Long Beach State.

Mullis, Wold and the rest of the 2018 Wisconsin Rapids Rafters will begin their season on the road against the Madison Mallards on Tuesday, May 29th. The Home Opener is slated for Friday, June 1st against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The entire 2018 Rafters schedule is available at www.raftersbaseball.com.
