Rafters go for the hook, line and sinker against Kingfish

 

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. –  After a thrilling 4-3 win against the Kenosha Kingfish last night, the Rafters look to reel in the sweep this afternoon. The Rafters are now 10-8 on the season, tying them for fourth in the South Division standings. The Kingfish fall to 7-11 on the season.

 

Last night the Kingfish recorded four hits, plating three runs. Mike Madej of the Kenosha Kingfish went 1-for-4 last night with two RBI. The Rafters’ designated hitter Mitch Mallek did the most damage to the Kingfish going 2-for-4 with one run scored, two RBI and a double for the Rafters.

 

On the mound this afternoon for the Rafters is Trayson Kubo. Kubo is currently 2-0 for the Rafters and maintains a 0.56 ERA in 16 innings pitched. Kubo has struck out twelve batters and allowed only eight hits.

 

Pitching for the Kingfish is Kaleb Schmidt. Schmidt is 0-1 for the Kingfish with an ERA of 2.70 in three starts. In 13.1 innings, Schmidt has struck out 12 while allowing five runs on 14 hits.
