The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Return to Witter for matchup against Dock Spiders.

 

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – The Rafters are back at Witter Field after a long road trip to Rockford, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. After the six games, the Rafters are now 14-14 in the second half and 29-34 overall. The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are tied with the cranberry and gold in the second half also sporting a 14-14 record. They are 35-28 overall.

 

Taking the mound tonight for Wisconsin Rapids will be lefthander Gareth Stroh (Purdue). Stroh has a 3-1 record for the Rafters with a 2.95 ERA. This will be Stroh’s eighth start. He has struck out 30 batters, walked ten and given up 32 hits in 39.2 innings pitched.

 

Pitching tonight for the Dock Spiders is Jon Young. The righty from Indiana Wesleyan has pitched 56 innings for Fond du Lac Dock Spiders. In his 10 appearances he has allowed 50 hits and 15 walks while striking out 38. He sports a 1.75 ERA and 4-2 record.

 

The first pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m. The Rafters will be home for a second game against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and then a Monday matchup against the Battle Creek Bombers.
