Wisconsin Rapids to host Lakeshore for two games at Witter Field

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. – Playing their first back-to-back home games of the season, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (3-5) open a two-game set at Historic Witter Field Wednesday against the Lakeshore Chinooks (1-7).

The Rafters are coming off a 5-3 comeback victory on the road over the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The Wisconsin Rapids offense put up eight hits on the night, with Jake Dunham’s 2-for-4 and three RBI performance leading the way.

The Chinooks won their season opener over Battle Creek, but have dropped seven straight entering their first of twelve games against the Rafters this season.

Cal Djuraskovic is expected to start on the mound for the Rafters. The junior lefty pitched four shutout innings in his first start for Wisconsin Rapids. Djuraskovic struck out two batters and did not give up a walk in a 2-1 loss to the Madison Mallards.

Wednesday’s game at Witter Field is also Rosco’s 10thBirthday Bash, with special mascot appearances. On Thursday, the Rafters will hold Advanced Disposal Cranberry Night, featuring a Cranberry Rosco bobblehead giveaway.
