Wisconsin Rapids wins 2 in a row, first time this season
Wisconsin Rapids, WI— Rafters get a big win over the Wausau Woodchucks by a score of 3-0. It is the first time the Rafters have won back to back games all season as they shut out the 1st place Woodchucks. The Rafters out hit the Woodchucks 8-7.
The Rafters were able to start the hitting off in the bottom of the first as Chris Conniff continued his excellent start by getting a base hit. Fellow returning Rafter, Garret Broussard, followed it up by getting a base hit to first, but Conniff was thrown out at second. Then Jack Basseer was hit by a pitch which put two runners on. Utah Tech product, Shane Taylor, continued his superb start by driving a 3 run homer to deep left center field which was the only score of the game. The Cranberry Crazies went wild as that was the Rafters 4th homer of the season.

The Rafters pitching success continued as Drake Frize came on to the mound in the 4th inning allowing 2 hits and 4 more strikeouts. The bullpen staff of Wisconsin Rapids had 5 total pitchers taking the mound with 9 strikeouts. Wausau was able to acquire 7 hits, but the timely strikeouts and heads up double plays allowed the Rafters to have success on the defensive side of the ball.
