The Battle Creek Bombers won their six-straight game in a one-run victory over Green Bay while Wisconsin Rapids keeps pace with them as they won in their own one-run affair with the Woodchucks.

Kenosha 3, Lakeshore 2

The Kenosha Kingfish needed 14 innings to put away the Lakeshore Chinooks 3-2 on the road this afternoon. After three scoreless innings, the Chinooks scored first when Zach Biermann (Polk State) scored on a sac fly. The next batter, Caleb Dean (Lamar), drove in the second on an RBI single. The Kingfish finally got on the board in the top of the sixth when Tyler Paulsen (Illinois State) hit a two RBI double to tie the game. From there, both teams went scoreless for seven innings. The Kingfish threw five pitchers after their starter pitched six. The Chinooks starter also threw six and used three relievers in eighth innings of work. Anthony Warneke (San Diego City) reached base for the Kingfish in the 14th on an error by the right fielder and eventually scored the game winning run two batters later from a double by Jack Yalowitz (Illinois). Christian Bokich (Lee) pitched four innings of relief for Kenosha, only allowed one hit and struck out five to pick up the win.

Rochester 1, Duluth 4

The Duluth Huskies improve to 5-2 on the season with a 4-1 victory over the Rochester Honkers. The Honkers were first on the board when Cam Adams (North Park) hit an RBI single in the second inning. Caleb Robinson (Western Carolina) tied the game in the third with an RBI single and a sac fly gave the Huskies the lead. A fielder’s choice brought in an insurance run in the fifth and Sam Baier (Augustana) knocked in an RBI double in the seventh which would go onto be the final score. Starter Piero Amador (Greensboro) pitched 5.1, only allowing the one run on six hits to pick up the win. The Huskies bullpen threw 3.2, only allowing one hit and one walk.

Rockford 9, Fond du Lac 6

The Rockford Rivets scored four early to build a big enough lead over the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders in a 9-6 victory. Zach Rheams (Texas Tech) put the Rivets on the board first in the second with an RBI single which started a four-run inning as he came around to score later on. Tyler Lowe (Elgin CC) delivered his own RBI single in the third to extend their lead. Rheams knocked in his second RBI single in the fifth while Lowe scored the second run of the inning. The Dock Spiders didn’t go away as they exploded for six in the sixth. Collin Ridout (Tennessee Wesleyan) drove in the first run with an RBI single to put the Spiders on the board. He later came around to score from a two-run single. Carson Bartels (Heartland CC) hit his own two-run single and the sixth came from a sac fly. Dylan Stutsman (Indianapolis) finally came into pitch for the Rivets and he picked up the save on four innings of work.

Eau Claire 1, Waterloo 4

The Waterloo Bucks scored four early which proved to be enough as they defeated the Eau Claire Express 4-1. In the Bucks’ second inning, Deion Thompson (Western Illinois) hit a single and after an error by the first basemen, Tyler Bordner (Kirkwood CC) came around to score. Thompson then came around to score along with another run from an error by the catcher. Zach Malis (Grand Canyon) scored the fourth run of the inning when Korry Howell (Kirkwood CC) stole his third base of the season. The Express got on the board in the fifth when Nic Ready (Air Force) hit an RBI single, but that would be it for the scoring by either team. Hunter Spencer (Bellarmine) picked up the win by throwing five, only allowing one run on three hits while striking out five.

Willmar 10, Mankato 2

The Willmar Stingers built an 8-0 lead after scoring in the fourth which resulted in a 10-2 victory over the Mankato MoonDogs for their fifth win of the season. Marcus Still (New Mexico State) stole two bases in the first and came around to score from an error by the catcher. Still stole four in the game, increasing his season total to nine in seven games. The Stingers then broke the game open with seven runs in the top of the fourth. Still continued to produce as he hit a single to drive in two and later came around to score on a fielder’s choice. The MoonDogs got on the board with single runs in the fifth and the sixth, but that would be it as the final two Stingers’ pitchers pitched two and allowed nothing.

Madison 12, Kalamazoo 6

The Madison Mallards used two five run innings in their 12-6 victory over the Kalamazoo Growlers. The Mallards scored first in the top of the second when Kian O’Brien (Madison College) knocked in an RBI single. The Growlers took the lead when they answered for two in the bottom half. The Growlers extended their lead in the third as they struck for one more on a Nick Hutchins (Southern Illinois) solo shot. The Mallards then retook the lead on a five-run fourth inning. O’Brien hit another single to drive in an unearned run to get the scoring going. Three runs came across in one at bat due to an error by the shortstop and then and RBI single brought across the fifth. The Growlers wouldn’t go away as they put up one in the fifth and two in the sixth, but Madison exploded for five more in the eighth. Three runs in that inning came from Doran Turchin’s (Illinois) third home run of the season. The Mallards then added one more for good measure in the ninth. The bullpen did most of the work for Madison as they threw a combined 6.1 innings, only giving up two on five hits while striking out six.

La Crosse 3, Bismarck 9

The Bismarck Larks score in every inning besides three as they hand the La Crosse Loggers their sixth loss of the season in a 9-3 victory. The Larks got the scoring going in the second when Noah Sadler (Illinois State) scored on a fielder’s choice. The Loggers answered to tie the game in the third from an error, but the Larks retook the lead in the bottom half when Newt Johnson (South Dakota State) knocked in an RBI single. The Loggers wouldn’t go away as Taylor Sanagorski hit a solo shot in the fourth. David Salguiero (LSU Shreveport) then knocked in two in the bottom half with a single and later came around to score the third run of the inning. The Larks extended their lead in the fifth with a run as Quinn Irey (Jamestown) scored on an RBI single. Salguiero delivered his second RBI single in the seventh for the second run of the inning and the third came from another RBI single. The Loggers would try and chip away at the lead as they scored one more in the eighth, but reliever Connor Hilburn (Lakeland) shut the door on La Crosse for a scoreless 1.2.

Wisconsin 1, Wisconsin Rapids 2

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are keeping pace for first place in the South as they won in a one run game against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. Chad Fleischman (Lamar) put the Chucks on the board first with a solo home run in the top of the second, but that would be the only run they would score. Mitchell Mallek (St. Cloud State) reached on a fielder’s choice in the fifth, advanced on a wild pitch and scored from an RBI single to tie the game. Another wild pitch in the next inning advanced Matt Schmidt (Cypress) into scoring position who would come around to score the eventual game winning run. Besides the home run, Jack Eagan (Madison College) pitched a gem for Rapids. He threw six, only allowed the one run on four hits while striking out eight to pick up the win.

Green Bay 5, Battle Creek 6

The Battle Creek Bombers have now won six in a row to keep pace with the Rafters as they defeated the Green Bay Bullfrogs 6-5. The Bombers struck first in the bottom half of the opening inning. The Frogs then responded to take the lead in the top of the second. Ben Chally (UW-Milwaukee) scored on a bases loaded walk while Alex Pener (Scottsdale CC) scored on wild pitch and Brad Hamilton (Kent State) came across on a sac fly. Ben Hart (Oakland) drove in run number four on an RBI double. The Frogs would score their last in the third when Chally scored again. The Bombers started to chip away in the fourth on two run double by Winston Welch (Arkansas State). Battle Creek came within one in the sixth and took the lead for good with two in the eighth. Andrew Click (Davenport) picked up his second win of the season as he threw two scoreless in relief while striking out two.  

St. Cloud 5, Thunder Bay 1

The St. Cloud Rox scored three early runs and two late to keep away the Thunder Bay Border Cats in a 5-1 victory. Shane Selman (McNeese State) hit an RBI double in the top of the first to put the Rox on the board. Two more came across for St. Cloud in the third on two RBI singles. From there, the game went scoreless until the Rox struck again for two in the top of the ninth. The Border Cats scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the ninth when Colin Rosenbaum (Belmont Abbey) knocked in an RBI single. Jack Cushing (Georgetown) pitched six scoreless innings, only allowing four hits, two hits and struck out five for the win.
