Ryan Schmitt (Illinois) earned tonight's pitcher of the night after guiding the Mallards to a 6-2 victory over the Lakeshore Chinooks. Schmitt threw seven scoreless innings, only allowed four hits, one walk while striking out four. The most baserunners he allowed in an inning was two in the third after issuing a single and a walk to begin the inning. Schmitt improved his season record to 2-1 and dropped his ERA to 1.19.
