The St. Cloud Rox had their five-game winning streak snapped as they now fall a half game behind the Waterloo Bucks in the North. Wisconsin Rapids continues to win as they have now won number four in a row for a league best 21-4 record and a 4.5 game lead in the South. Kenosha is also riding a four-game winning streak to put themselves in second while Rockford won and Battle Creek lost to put the Rivets in third.

Bismarck 9, Mankato 7

The Bismarck Larks scored four late to defeat the Mankato MoonDogs 9-7. The Larks got their first two in the opening inning when Connor Perry (Faulkner) scored on a wild pitch and Austin Paschke (Pittsburgh) came home from a bases loaded walk. The MoonDogs managed to get one back in the bottom half when Ryan Kreidler (UCLA) scored on a wild pitch. Mankato took the lead in the second when they hung four. An RBI single from Kreidler brought in one followed by a two-run triple by Kyle Cuellar (UCLA) who scored on a ground out. The MoonDogs went up four with another run in the third, but Bismarck began their comeback. Mitch Gallagher (Xavier) hit a two-run shot in the fourth and they got another run in the fifth. The MoonDogs put up their final run in the sixth as Perry started a four-run inning for the Larks with a two-run shot. Jeff Lindgren (Illinois State) closed out the final 1.1 for his third save of the season.

St. Cloud 3, Thunder Bay 8

The Thunder Bay Border Cats snapped the St. Cloud Rox five game winning streak and won 8-3. Thunder Bay scored first in the bottom half of the opening inning when Braden Mosley (Southeast Missouri) hit a three-run shot. The Border Cats added another in the third, but the Rox answered to get on the board with one in the next inning from a Shane Selman (McNeese State) RBI double. Thunder Bay got their four-run lead back from a run on a sac fly. St. Cloud came within two in the fifth from a two-run double by Drew Avans (Southeastern Louisiana). Thunder Bay added a key insurance run in the sixth and then back-to-back RBI singles in the seventh gave the Border Cats a large enough lead to win the game.

Willmar 4, La Crosse 3

The Willmar Stingers held off a late rally by the La Crosse Loggers in the eighth to go on to win 4-3. The Loggers scored first in the bottom of the second when Cameron Cannon (Arizona) hit an RBI double. The Stingers quickly took the lead in the third from two solo shots by Caleb Ledbetter (Montevallo) and Josh Bissonette (Baylor). Eli Wilson (Minnesota) scored another for Willmar in the fifth from a bases load walk. The Stingers got number four in the eighth, but La Crosse wouldn’t go away. Luke Rasmussen (Long Beach State) hit a two-run home to bring the Loggers within one, but Braxton Johns (East Georgia) threw a scoreless ninth to secure the win for Willmar.

Madison 6, Lakeshore 2

The Madison Mallards only allowed one inning of scoring to the Lakeshore Chinooks as they won 6-2. The Mallards jumped first in the opening inning when Cole Daily (Notre Dame) scored from a wild pitch and two more followed from an error, pass ball and single. Angel Camacho (Jacksonville) extended their lead to four with a solo shot in the third. Madison then scored two more in the fifth from two RBI singles. Starter Ryan Schmitt (Illinois) threw seven scoreless for the Mallards, only allowed four hit one walk while striking out four to earn his second win. The Chinooks managed to get to the Mallards bullpen for two in the eighth. Matthew Mika (Central Florida) hit an RBI single which was followed by an RBI double from Rylan Thomas (Central Florida). The late game rally wasn’t enough as Madison shutdown Lakeshore with only one base runner in the ninth.

Wisconsin 3, Kenosha 4

The Kenosha Kingfish hold off a late rally by the Wisconsin Woodchucks to win 4-3. Kenosha got three right away in the bottom half of the opening inning which started from a two-run single by Derek Bangert (Bradley). The game then went scoreless until the seventh when the Chucks scored twice which started from an RBI triple by Yeager Taylor (UC Riverside). The Chucks would tie the game in the eighth when Stevie Mangrum (Virginia Tech) hit a solo shot. Kenosha’s eventual game winner came in the bottom half when Bangert delivered again for another run-scoring single. Billy McKay (Florida) shut down the Woodchucks in the ninth for his third save of the season.

Kalamazoo 7, Fond du Lac 4

The Kalamazoo Growlers scored three late and held off a rally from the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders to win 7-4. Fondy scored first in the bottom half of the opening inning when AJ Lewis (Missouri) scored from an RBI ground out. The Growlers tied the game in the fourth when Michael Diffley (San Diego State) hit an RBI double. The Spiders answered and retook the lead from a solo shot by Joe Breaux (McClennan CC) in the bottom half. Kalamazoo took the lead for good in the fifth when Jason Sullivan (Central Michigan) started a three-run inning with an RBI single. The Spiders got one in the seventh, but Kalamazoo answered again for three in three in the eighth. Fondy wouldn’t go away as Luke Mangieri (Bradley) hit a two out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, but the Growlers got the next batter to fly out to end the game.

Waterloo 6, Duluth 0

The Waterloo Bucks used four pitchers to shutout the Duluth Huskies and win 6-0. After three scoreless innings, the Bucks scored first when Ian Nelson (Missouri) came home from a wild pitch in the top of the fourth. Tyler Stover (Louisiana-Lafayette) the scored for the Bucks in the next inning from another wild pitch. Waterloo put up three more in the sixth when Nelson got things going with an RBI single. He later scored from a double and Stover drove one in from a sac fly. The only multi hit player for Duluth was Jake Pries (UCLA) who singled to lead off the second and picked up another base hit in the fifth, but was stranded both times. The Bucks’ bullpen threw the final four scoreless to secure the shutout.

Green Bay 4, Rockford 5

The Rockford Rivets fought off a late rally by the Green Bay Bullfrogs to win 5-4. The Frogs were first on the board when Troy Johnston (Gonzaga) hit a two-RBI double in the first. Rockford answered in the second to take the lead from a three-run shot by Hunter Feduccia (Louisiana State Eunice). Green Bay tied the game in the fifth when Alonzo Jones (Vanderbilt) hit an RBI single, but the Rivets retook the lead with two in the bottom half. Rockford was holding onto a two-run lead when the Frogs got another RBI single from Johnston in the eighth, but Dylan Stutsman (Indianapolis) closed the door on the final 1.2.

Rochester 3, Eau Claire 13

The Eau Claire Express scored early and often to defeat the Rochester Honkers 13-3 tonight. The Express raced out to an early 5-0 lead in the second inning. Rudy Rott (Ohio) led off the inning with a solo home run. From there, Eau Claire managed four more from run scoring single. Justin Evans (Columbus State) hit his own solo home run in the next inning to extend their lead. The Express got another in the fourth before the Honkers answered for three in the fifth. All three came from a double by Zach Zubia (Texas). The Express got all three runs back to extend their lead back to seven in the bottom half. Kyle Marinconz (Cal Poly) then drove in his fifth in the sixth. The Express tacked on two more in the eighth which would go on to be the final score as Cody Doye (New Mexico) threw four scoreless to pick up his first save of the season.

Wisconsin Rapids 8, Battle Creek 1

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters got another quality start from Jack Eagan (Madison College) as they defeated the Battle Creek Bombers 8-1. Rapids was first on the board in the opening inning when Bryson Stott (UNLV) scored on a wild pitch. The Rafters then broke the game open for six in the second. Scott Kapers (Valparaiso) got the scoring going from an RBI double as he later scored from an RBI single. A fielder’s choice, single and double brought in the other runs as Rapids continued to build their lead early in the game. The Bombers managed to get just one in the fourth from an RBI single by JD Mundy (Virginia Tech). Nick Owens (St. Johns River State) then reached in the eighth from an error to score a run. Rapids got six from Eagan as he only allowed one run on four hits, three walks while striking out seven.
