FirstPitch2 (1)The Madison Mallards will host their annual first pitch event on Saturday, April 16th at 3:00 pm at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center.

At this event, Mallards Executive Chef Tristan Straub will prepare a food tasting for fans, featuring the newest unique food special at the ballpark; BEER NUTS!  Beer nuts are bull testicles, brined in beer, slightly smoked, chopped, beer battered and deep fried to golden perfection.  Beer nuts will be available at Stoddard's Smokehouse in 2016.  Attendees will also get to taste a new deep fried cheese curd that will be served at various food locations and hops-smoked chicken breast with honey beer sauce that will be an addition to the Great Dane Duck Blind food menu.

For fans who don't fill up on tasting's, ballpark food, including burgers, brats, and hot dogs will also be available.

In addition to this great tasting selection, the Mallards will unveil the 2016 promotional schedule including bobbleheads, celebrities, and wild and wacky entertainment.

Speakers at the event will include Mallards Owner Steve Schmitt, President Vern Stenman, COO Conor Caloia, and General Manager Tyler Isham.  A question and answer session about the Mallards will follow the event.  Mallards PA Announcer Rich Reynolds will emcee the event.

This family friendly event will be open to the public, free of charge.

7-Game Packs and BRAND NEW merchandise can be purchased at the event as the Mallards sales staff will be on-hand to assist fans and answer questions.

The Mallards will host their home opener on Friday, June 3rd when they take on the new Northwoods League affiliate Rockford Rivets.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.  Single-game tickets for the 2016 season will go on sale at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 30th.
