KALAMAZOO, MI – The Kalamazoo Growlers are now 80 days away from Opening Day at Homer Stryker Field, and are excited to add Nick Stokowski and Jason Sullivan of Central Michigan University to the 2017 roster.

INF – Nick Stokowski, 6’3” (L/R) Junior, Central Michigan University        

Stokowski comes from Monticello, Illinois, and previously played his collegiate ball at Parkland College. He is a four-year letter winner and was named all-state at Monticello High School. Stokowski won both regional and sectional championships as a senior and was selected to the all-area and all-conference teams from his freshman year through his senior year of high school ball. As a senior he batted .484 and set school records in both home runs, with 9, and RBIs, with 60.

During Stokowski’s sophomore year at Parkland Junior College he batted .385 with 69 hits, 9 home runs, 52 RBIs, and 23 walks. He was named all-conference and all-region for the 2015-16 season.

INF – Jason Sullivan, 5’11” (R/R) Sophomore, Central Michigan University

Sullivan is a Bartlett, Illinois, native. He was a four-year letter winner and two-year team captain at St. Francis High School. Sullivan was a 2012 Rich Janor Rookie of the Year Award recipient and a 2013 Rich Janor Golden Arm Award recipient. He posted a .417 batting average, had a .508 on-base percentage with three home runs, 20 stolen bases, and a .961 fielding percentage and was ranked No. 42 in the state of Illinois by Perfect Game coming out of high school.

During his freshman year at Central Michigan Sullivan started 58 of his team’s 59 games. He batted .244 with 17 RBIs and was ranked second on the team in stolen bases with 8. Sullivan finished the 2016 campaign with a total of 12 multi-hit games, landing fourth in total team hits on the season at 49. Of the 49 hits, nine were doubles. He was also hit by a team-high 11 pitches. Sullivan went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs against Illinois, 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored in a win over Saginaw Valley State, and scored a season-high three runs in a 13-inning victory over Ohio.
