Sunday’s Northwoods League slate featured 13 games. The Madison Mallards take game 1 over the Wausau Woodchucks 8-7 in tonight’s matchup, creeping up the Great Lakes West rankings. Kenosha, Rockford, and Traverse City are all tied for first in the Great Lakes East.

Traverse City 14, Battle Creek 0

The Traverse City Pit Spitters racked up sixteen hits to shut out the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 14-0. Michael Tchavdarov (Davenport University) had himself a day at the plate going 2-for-6 scoring three times with a three-run home run in the second and a two-run double in the eighth. Vahn Lackey (Georgia Tech) went 2-for-4 scoring three times with a two-run home run in the sixth. Brett Denby (Georgia Tech) went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Brett Rozman (Central Arizona College) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with two RBI. Jayden Dentler (Western Michigan University) earned the win throwing five innings with five strikeouts allowing three hits, two walks, and zero runs.

Wisconsin Rapids 8, La Crosse 5

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters took down the La Crosse Loggers 8-5 in tonight’s matchup. Kyler Mcintosh (Alabama State University) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Greyson Shafer (Brigham Young University) was perfect at the plate going 4-for-4 scoring three times with a double. Bryson Stripling (University of North Georgia) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Tristin Crusenberry (Campbellsville University) earned the win throwing four scoreless innings with five strikeouts allowing one hit and zero walks. 

Green Bay 12, Lakeshore 7

The Green Bay Rockers used a five-run ninth inning to take the lead over the Lakeshore Chinooks defeating them 12-7. Lukas Torres (Wagner College) had a day at the plate going 3-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run in the first and a two-run triple in the ninth. Lane Allen (Blinn College) went 3-for-4 scoring three times with a two-run triple in the sixth. Cooper Kelly (Oral Roberts University) went 3-for-4 with a double, one stolen base, and two RBI. Gene Trujillo (University of New Mexico) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run double and a solo home run. Jake Toporek (Wagner College) earned the win throwing three innings with four strikeouts allowing one hit, zero walks, and zero earned runs.

Kenosha 8, Rockford 7

The Kenosha Kingfish walk it off to take down the Rockford Rivets 8-7. Trey Swiderski (John A Logan) went 3-for-5 scoring once with a pair of doubles and collecting three RBI. Vytas Valinicius (University of Illinois) went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and one stolen base. Noah Jouras (Davidson College) went 1-for-4 scoring twice with a solo home run in the first. Jack Zebig (Maryville University) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Colin Hawkins (University Of Illinois – Chicago) earned the win throwing one inning with one strikeout allowing one hit, zero walks, and zero runs.

Waterloo 10, Eau Claire 8

The Waterloo Bucks broke it open in the first inning scoring eight runs to help take down the Eau Claire Express 10-8. Ben Wilmes (University of Iowa) went 3-for-5 recording a double, a triple, one stolen base, and three RBI. Lucas Moore (University of Louisville) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with two RBI and one stolen base. Brennan Hudson (Georgia State University) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Marcus Heusohn (University of Illinois at Chicago) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Brady Blake (University of Kansas) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and one stolen base. Jacob Phillips (Guilford College) earned the win throwing five innings with three strikeouts allowing four hits, three walks, and one run.

Fond du Lac 11, Kalamazoo 2

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders score four runs in the ninth to help take down the Kalamazoo Growlers 11-2. Drew Barragan (Embry Riddle Aeronautical) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a two-run single in the third and a two-run home run in the ninth. Parker Knoll (Lawrence University) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with a double, two RBI, and one stolen base. Drew Prosek (Gulf Coast State College) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a double and a two-run home run in the second. Tyler Stack (Xavier University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Justin Roitman (Ellsworth Community College) earned the win throwing 4.2 innings with three strikeouts allowing three walks, one hit, and one run.

Kokomo 11, Royal Oak 6

The Kokomo Jackrabbits came out hot in the eighth scoring six runs to take down the Royal Oak Leprechauns 11-6. Jack Anderson (Case Western Reserve University) went 3-for-5 scoring three times with a solo home run in the seventh and a two-run single in the eighth. J.J. Dutton (Indian Hills Community College) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a two-run home run and collecting four RBI. Bodee Wright (Montana State University Billings) went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI. Jack Dupuis (Olivet Nazarene University) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Michael Lareau (Belmont University) went 3-for-4 scoring once with a triple. Aiden Berggren (Shorter University) earned the win throwing one inning with two strikeouts allowing zero walks, hits, and runs.

Badlands 5, Minnesota 4

The Badlands Big Sticks pulled through and defeated the Minnesota Mud Puppies 5-4. Tyler Tobey (Metro State University of Denver) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI. Evan Appelwick (Miami University Ohio) went 2-for-3 with a double. Troy Berg (Iowa Central Community College) went 1-for-4 scoring once with two stolen bases. Lincoln Berry (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Nick Ibrahim (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Brayden McCollough (San Jacinto College (North))earned the win throwing one inning allowing two walks, one hit, and one run.

Mankato 19, Rochester 7

The Mankato MoonDogs ran up the score today taking down the Rochester Honkers 19-7. Josh Alexander (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) went 2-for-5 scoring three times with a grand slam in the third. Louis Magers (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 1-for-5 scoring twice with a two-run home run in the seventh. Cooper Neville (Grand Canyon University) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a two-run home run in the second. Carter Vrabel (Tennessee Tech University) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 scoring twice with a double and two RBI. Luca Dipaolo (University of Southern California) went 2-for-4 scoring three times with a solo home run. Tanner Shumski (Minnesota State University Mankato) earned the win throwing four innings with three strikeouts allowing two hits, one walk, and zero earned runs.

Duluth 11, Thunder Bay 10

The Duluth Huskies scored the go-ahead run in the ninth to take down the Thunder Bay Border Cats 11-10. Cardel Dick (University Nebraska Omaha) went 3-for-5 scoring three times with a three-run home run in the eighth. Corbin Grantham (Radford University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a triple and one RBI. Jayden Duplantier (University of Texas at Austin) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Liam Thompson (Cisco Junior College) earned the win throwing .2 innings allowing one walk, one hit, and one run.

Minot 14, Bismarck 11

The Minot Hot Tots take the lead in the ninth scoring six runs and beating the Bismarck Larks 14-11. Lucas Pringle (Charleston Southern University) went 1-for-2 scoring three times with two RBI. Trae Cassidy (Ohio University) went 3-for-4 scoring once with two RBI with one stolen base. Tristan Moore (University of Houston) went 2-for-5 scoring three times with two RBI. Cj Richmond (Western Michigan University) went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Ayden Sauerbrei (Minot State University) earned the win throwing two innings with two strikeouts allowing one hit, zero walks, and zero runs.

St. Cloud 11, Willmar 10

The St. Cloud Rox used a five-run fourth inning to help take down the Willmar Stingers 11-10. Jackson Hauge (University of Kansas) went 3-for-4 with a grand slam in the second. Ben Hugdon (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-5 scoring once with a triple and two RBI. Sawyer Smith (University of Kansas) went 1-for-6 scoring twice with a solo home run.
