Tuesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 2 games, and one extra-inning victory for the Madison Night Mares to secure the sweep over the La Crosse Steam.
Madison 12, La Crosse 3
The Madison Night Mares ran up the score against the La Cr0sse Steam beating them 12-3. Haley Remington (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 3-for-5 scoring once with a double and a triple collecting three RBI. Brooke Steinhorst (Madison College) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Rylee Rogers (Madison College) went 1-for-2 scoring three times with a double, one stolen base, and one RBI. Calli Janik (Mount Mercy University) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Ashley Wolfe (Oregon State University) went 3-for-4 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Holly Lowenberg (Bryant and Stratton College) earned the win throwing four innings with two strikeouts allowing eight hits, two earned runs, and one walk.
Madison 6, La Crosse 3
The Madison Night Mares secure the sweep in extras beating the La Crosse Steam 6-3. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin-Madison) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, including a bases-clearing double to score three go-ahead runs in the eighth. Chloe Wamboldt (Rock Valley College) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a solo home run. Teagan Graul (Paris Junior College) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run. Andrea Jaskowiak (University of Iowa) earned the win throwing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts allowing five hits and one walk.
