Sunday’s Northwoods League slate featured 11 games. Another week down in the NWL and we look at the leaders in each region. Rockford with 19 wins and 8 losses is leading the Great Lakes East. Wausau Woodchucks, leading the Great Lakes West with 21 wins and 5 losses. La Crosse, leading the Great Plains East with 15 wins and 9 losses. Willmar Stingers, leading the Great Plains West with 16 wins and 9 losses.

Waterloo 10, Wisconsin Rapids 8

The Waterloo Bucks score four in the eighth to beat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 10-8. Chase Beattie (Saint Louis University) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a pair of doubles and collected three RBI. Ben Wilmes (University of Iowa) went 3-for-4 scoring three times with a double and one RBI. Walker Buchanan (University of Virginia) went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Owen Mcelfatrick (Northwestern University) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI. Chaney Trout (Eastern Illinois University) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings giving up zero walks or hits.

Wausau 11, Green Bay 7

The Wausau Woodchucks score nine in the second to help take down the Green Bay Rockers 11-7. Drew Berkland (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-4 with a grand slam. Daniel Harden (McClennan Community) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI and three stolen bases. Isaac Webb (Texas AandM University-Corpus Christi) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with one RBI and two stolen bases. Nick Harms (Case Western Reserve University) went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Payton Mansfield (Jacksonville State University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Carsen Plumadore (Georgia Southwestern State University) earned the win throwing three innings with five strikeouts allowing three hits, two walks, and one earned runs.

Fond du Lac 13, Lakeshore 5

The Fond du Lac ran up the score over the Lakeshore Chinooks beating them 13-5. Drew Barragan (Embry Riddle Aeronautical) went 3-for-5 with a two-run double finishing the day with five RBI. Parker Knoll (Lawrence University) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a triple, one RBI, and two stolen bases. Gene Trujillo (University of New Mexico) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Colton Angell (Southeastern Community College) earned the win throwing one inning with one strikeout allowing one hit, one walk, and one run.

Kenosha 3, Rockford 1

The Kenosha Kingfish pull through with the win taking down the Rockford Rivets 3-1. Nick Giamarusti (Ohio State University) went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one stolen base. Connor Meidroth (University of San Diego) went 3-for-4 scoring once. Tanner Reaves (LSU) went 1-for-5 with one RBI. Keagon Kaufmann (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) earned the win throwing five innings with three strikeouts allowing three walks, three hits, and zero earned runs.

Mankato 5, St. Cloud 4

The Mankato MoonDogs score in extras to defeat the St. Cloud Rox 5-4. Ben Robichaux (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two stolen bases. Ryan Ward (University of San Diego) went 1-for-5 scoring twice. Jake Perry (University of Minnesota) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run home run. Ben Higdon (University of Kentucky) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Ben Rosin (Kansas State) earned the win throwing three scoreless innings with four strikeouts allowing one hit and zero walks.

Traverse City 6, Royal Oak 1

The Traverse City Pit Spitters beats the Royal Oak Leprechauns 6-1 in tonight’s matchup. Brett Rozman (Central Arizona College) went 2-for-4 scoring once with one RBI. Jasen Oliver (Indiana University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with two stolen bases. Ryan McKay (Michigan State University) went 2-for-4 with a double. Jake Brown (Central Michigan University) earned the win throwing six innings with four strikeouts allowing five walks, five hits, and one run.

Kalamazoo 3, Battle Creek 0

The Kalamazoo Growlers shut out the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 3-0. Myles Beale (Northwood University) went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Brodey Acres (Walsh University) went 2-for-5 with one RBI. Brandon Larson (Stanford University) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double. Eamon Horwedel (University of Michigan) earned the win throwing seven scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing five hits and zero walks.

Kokomo 13, Madison 6

The Kokomo Jackrabbits came out hot in the first scoring seven runs to help beat the Madison Mallards 13-6. Jake Lambdin (Xavier University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double and two RBI. Vincent Temesvary (Gonzaga University) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double and two RBI. J.J. Dutton (Indian Hills Community College) went 1-for-3 scoring three times with one RBI. Shai Robinson (Illinois State University) went 3-for-4 with a ninth-inning grand slam. Payton Graham (Gonzaga University) earned the win throwing six innings with seven strikeouts allowing six hits, one run, and one walk.

Rochester 8, Minot 7

The Rochester Honkers win at home beating the Minot Hot Tots 8-7. Dean Carpentier (University of Southern California) went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and a solo home run. Brendan O’Sullivan (University of Nevada Las Vegas) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI. Easton Breyfogle (University of Arizona) went 1-for-3 scoring once with a double and collecting three RBI. Xavier Esquer (University of Arizona) went 1-for-3 scoring once with two RBI. Sadier Vicioso (Stony Brook University) earned the win throwing 3.1 innings with two strikeouts allowing one hit, one run, and zero walks.

Willmar 13, Eau Claire 7

The Willmar Stingers score nine in the fourth to help defeat the Eau Claire Express 13-7. Aidan Byrne (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 3-for-4 scoring three times with an RBI single, a two-run single, a two-run home run, and a stolen base. Jessada Brown (University of California Santa Barbara) went 4-for-5 scoring three times with three doubles collecting two RBI. Jack Spanier (University of Minnesota) was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 scoring once with two RBI. Brady Reynolds (Stanford University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Will Whelan (University of Minnesota) earned the win throwing five innings with ten strikeouts allowing three walks, two hits, and one run. 

La Crosse 6, Thunder Bay 4

The La Crosse Loggers score five runs in the third to take down the Thunder Bay Border Cats 6-4. Luke Anderson (BYU) went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Zach Wadas (Texas Christian University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with two RBI and one stolen base. Zane Skansi (Creighton University (NE)) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Reece Beuter (University of Iowa) earned the win throwing four scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing three hits and zero walks.
