July 4th’s Northwoods League slate featured 10 games. The Lakeshore Chinooks used a monster sixth inning scoring nine runs to defeat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 13-9. The Rockford Rivets used a nine-run fifth inning to take down the Kokomo Jackrabbits 20-11 in tonight’s hit show. The Kalamazoo Growlers scored eight runs in the fourth to defeat the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 11-4.
Bismarck 8, Duluth 1
The Bismarck Larks score four runs in the fifth to help defeat the Duluth Huskies 8-1. Kyle Hvidsten (Iowa Western Community College) went 2-for-5 recording four RBI. Jaylen Edmonds (Arizona Christian University) went 1-for-2 scoring once with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Cesar Franco (Western Illinois University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Lucas Burgum (Alexandria Technical and Community College) earned the win going the distance throwing seven innings with three strikeouts allowing six hits, two walks, and zero earned runs.
Wausau 8, Green Bay 7
The Wausau Woodchucks come in clutch scoring two runs in the ninth to beat the Green Bay Rockers 8-7. Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas AM University-Corpus Christi) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run home run. Isaac Webb (Texas AandM University-Corpus Christi) went 3-for-5 with one RBI and two stolen bases. Max Galvin (Oklahoma State University) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Mateo Matthews (Wagner College) went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run. Jake Bold (Princeton University) went 3-for-4 with a solo home run. Luke Moeller (Grand Canyon University) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run. Lukas Torres (Wagner College) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Evan Alwine (Florida International University) earned the win throwing two innings with two strikeouts allowing two hits, two runs, and zero walks.
Wisconsin Rapids 12, Madison 4
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters take down the Madison Mallards 12-4 in tonight’s matchup. Max Mcgwire (University of San Diego) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a three-run home run and a two-run double, collecting 6 RBI.
