Monday’s Northwoods League slate featured two solo matchups; Great Plains West #4 Minot Hot Tots against Great Plains East #7 Minnesota Mud Puppies and Great Plains East #5 Waterloo Bucks and Great Lakes East #3 Rockford Rivets
Waterloo 8, Rockford 6
The Waterloo Bucks scored four runs in the fourth to help beat the Rockford Rivets 8-6. Lucas Moore (University of Louisville) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with two RBI and three stolen bases. Cole Smith (Southeastern Community College) went 2-for-4 scoring three times with two stolen bases. Evan Morrison (McPherson College) went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one stolen base. Maddox Mihalakis (University of Arizona) was perfect at the plate going 4-for-4 scoring once with a double and a triple, collecting three RBI and one stolen base. Charles Running (Luther College) earned the win throwing 3.2 innings with three strikeouts allowing six hits, three runs, and one walk.
Minot 7, Minnesota 4
The Minot Hot Tots swept the series over the Minnesota Mud Puppies beating them 7-4. Adrian Dominguez ( University of New Orleans) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Brant Baughcum (Mercer University) went 2-for-4 scoring three times with a triple. Keanu Jacobs-Guishard (Grambling State University) went 1-for-1 with three RBI. Josh Dykhoff (University of Minnesota-Crookston) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. Matthew Maulik (University of St. Thomas) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double. Dale Fry (Scottsdale Community College) earned the win throwing five innings with four strikeouts allowing three hits, three runs, and three walks.
