Friday’s Northwoods League slate featured 12 games. The Traverse City Pit Spitters blanked the Royal Oak Leprechauns 3-0, tallying five wins in a row. The Bismarck Larks walked it off in the 10th to defeat the Mankato MoonDogs 8-7 in a wild back-and-forth battle. The Lakeshore Chinooks outlasted the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 10-8 in a 12-inning marathon.

Rockford 9, Battle Creek 4

The Rockford Rivets surged past the Battle Creek Battle Jacks, winning 9-4. Tate Shimao (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with three RBIs. Drew Girtz (Bethel University) went 1-for-5, scoring once with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Jackson Forbes (University of Arizona) went 1-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring once. Ny’zaiah Thompson (Modesto CC) went 1-for-2 with a double, recording two runs and one stolen base. Nathan Ball (Central Michigan University) went 1-for-4 with a triple and one RBI. George Gouriotis (Edgewood College) earned the win, throwing five innings with three strikeouts, allowing three hits, two walks, and one run.

Madison 13, Fond du Lac 5

The Madison Mallards erupted for 13 runs on 16 hits to cruise past the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, 13-5. Frankie Carney (UC Irvine) went 2-for-5 with a with a two-run home run and a double, recording three RBIs and two runs scored. MJ Sweeney (Wichita State University) went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double , tallying three RBIs and two runs scored. Will Johannes (University of Illinois) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, collecting three RBIs and two runs scored. Brock Lulewicz (McLennan Community College) went 3-for-5 with a double, driving in one run and scoring twice. Quinn Schambow (Oklahoma State University) went 1-for-5 with a double, driving in three runs. Francesco Capocci (University of North Carolina) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing two hits and one walk.

Kenosha 6, Kalamazoo 5

The Kenosha Kingfish surged ahead with a four-run seventh inning and held off a late push to edge the Kalamazoo Growlers 6-5. Robert Newland (Kalamazoo College) went 1-for-4 with a bases-clearing double and scoring once. Ethan Hindle (University of Kentucky) went 2-for-2 with a double, driving in one run and scoring once. Brock Leitgeb (University of Michigan) went 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, recording two RBIs and one run scored. Blake Sivak (Maryville University) earned the win throwing 1.1 innings with one strikeout allowing one hit and zero earned runs. Sam McArthur (Lake Land College) got the save throwing one inning with one strikeout allowing three walks and one run.

Minot 7, Willmar 6

The Minot Hot Tots top the Willmar Stingers 7-6 in a tight back-and-forth battle. Robbie Demetree (University of Central Florida) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Rowan Felsch (UC Irvine) went 1-for-5 with a double, driving in two runs. Jonah Shields (Jacksonville University) went 2-for-2 scoring twice and stealing two bases. Matthew Pena (Cal State Northridge) went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a pair of doubles. Armani Guzman (West Virginia University) went 2-for-3 scoring once with two RBIs. Colton Griffin (Texas Christian University) went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and scored once. Ethen Carlson (St. Scholastica) earned the win throwing 4.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout allowing two hits and two walks. Kevin Rahe (University of Wisconsin-Superior) got the save throwing one scoreless inning with two strikeouts allowing one hit.

Lakeshore 10, Wisconsin Rapids 8

Noah Kimura (Lassen CC) got the save throwing one perfect inning striking out one of three batters faced.

Wausau 6, Green Bay 2

The Wausau Woodchucks rallied late to defeat the Green Bay Rockers 6-2. Noah Malone (Loyola Marymount University) went 2-for-3 with a double, driving in three runs and scoring once. Max Soliz (University of Kansas) went 1-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and drawing two walks. Dom Rodriguez (University of Arizona) went 1-for-3 scoring once with one RBI. Joe Menella (Wagner College) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run. Amar Tsengeg (Northwestern University) earned the win throwing seven innings with three strikeouts allowing three hits and two runs.

Waterloo 7, La Crosse 6

The Waterloo Bucks scored two in the eighth to edge out the La Crosse Loggers 7-6. Caleb Parker (UW-Platteville) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Owen Ross (Northern Illinois University) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with four stolen bases. Larry Edwards (McNeese State University) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with three stolen bases. Ethan Edinger (University of Louisville) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Joseph Quelch (Georgia Gwinnett College) went 2-for-4 with a double, driving in one run and scoring once. Gannon Wentz (Northern Kentucky University) earned the win throwing three scoreless innings with one strikeout allowing one hit and one walk.

Eau Claire 2, Rochester 1

The Eau Claire Express came out on top in a 2-1 tight-matchup against Rochester Honkers. Gabe Richardson (University of Minnesota-Duluth) went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Cort MacDonald (Stanford University) went 2-for-3 scoring once. Dante Vachini (Cal Poly University) went 1-for-3 with a double and scored once. Miguel Cantu (Missouri Western State University) went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Payton Knowles (Gonzaga University) went 1-for-3 with a triple and scored once. Walker Retz (University of St. Thomas (MN)) earned the win throwing seven innings with four strikeouts allowing seven hits, two walks, and one run. Austin Steeves (Stanford University) got the save throwing one scoreless inning with one strikeout allowing two hits.

Duluth 16, Thunder Bay 1

The Duluth Huskies dominated from start to finish, piling on 20 hits in a 16-1 rout of the Thunder Bay Border Cats. Reagan Reeder (University of Evansville) was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Rowan Kelly (UC Santa Barbara) went 2-for-5 with a double, driving in three runs, scoring twice, and stealing one base. Ethan Surowiec (University of Florida) went 2-for-6 with a double, recording two RBIs and two runs scored. Nate Novitske (University of Arizona) went 4-for-5 with a double, tallying one RBI and two runs scored. Tyler Palmer (University of Nebraska Omaha) went 3-for-4 with a triple, scoring four times, and stealing two bases. Jake Downing (Cal Poly University) went 3-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI and two stolen bases. Kingsley Guthrie (Murray State University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with two RBIs and two stolen bases. The Badlands Big Sticks used a late four-run surge in the eighth inning to pull away from the St. Cloud Rox, securing a 7-2 victory. Ryker Schow (Brigham Young University) went 1-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs, scoring once, and stealing one base. Connor Massimini (East Texas Baptist University) went 2-for-4 with a double, recording one RBI, one run scored, and one stolen base. Jonas Salk (University of Portland) went 2-for-3 with a double, scoring twice, and stealing one base. Jackson Cooke (University of Pittsburgh) went 1-for-2 with one RBI and two stolen bases. Jack Spring (College of Wooster) earned the win throwing 6.1 innings with four strikeouts allowing seven hits, one earned run, and one walk. Seth Broadwell (Keiser University) got the save striking out the only batter faced.

Adam McKelvey (Georgia Tech) earned the win throwing 6.1 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts allowing four walks and two hits. Elliot Traver (University of Northwestern Ohio) got the save throwing one perfect inning with one strikeout.

Nico Libed (University of San Diego) went 2-for-3 with a double, tallying one RBI and two runs scored.
