Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 13 games. The Minot Hot Tots dominated the Badlands Big Sticks 16-3 with an explosive offensive performance.

Kenosha 23, Royal Oak 9

The Kenosha Kingfish exploded offensively, dominating the Royal Oak Leprechauns 23-9 in tonight’s slugfest. Noah Alvarez (UC Irvine) had a day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, driving in four runs, and scoring twice. Nick Williams (Michigan State University) went 3-for-5 with a triple and a double, tallying two RBIs, three runs scored, and one stolen base. Dominic Kibler (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 1-for-2, scoring twice with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Will Matuszak (Santa Barbara City CC) went 1-for-3 with a double, driving in three runs and scoring twice. Robert Newland (Kalamazoo College) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, recording two RBIs and two runs scored. Jack Zebig (University of Illinois) went 2-for-5, scoring four times and driving in one run. Ryan Tyranski (University of Cincinnati) went 3-for-6 with a pair of home runs and a double, tallying five RBIs, two runs scored, and one stolen base. Jovan Gill (Grand Valley State University) went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run. Cooper Cooksey (University of South Alabama) earned the win, throwing four innings with four strikeouts, allowing six walks, three hits, and two runs. Matthew Woodward (Rock Valley CC) got the save, pitching three innings, allowing six hits, seven runs, and three walks.

Wausau 5, Fond du Lac 2

The Wausau Woodchucks took control early and held steady to defeat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 5-2. Dylan Schlotterback (Paris JC) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, driving in one run, scoring once, and stealing four bases. Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 1-for-4 scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Reece McCarthy (University of Massachussetts) went 1-for-4 with a double, recording one RBI and one stolen base. Grant Parson (Indiana State University) earned the win throwing six innings with four strikeouts allowing five walks, four hits, and two runs. Kade Douglas (Colorado State-Pueblo) got the save throwing three scoreless innings allowing two hits and one walk.

Madison 9, Green Bay 4

The Madison Mallards used a big fourth inning to set the tone and defeat the Green Bay Rockers 9-4. Will Johannes (University of Illinois) went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, recording three RBIs. Justin Gadomski (Illinois Wesleyan University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double, scoring twice. Davis Hamilton (University of Minnesota) went 4-for-5 with a double, driving in three runs, scoring twice, and stealing two bases. Brayden Buchanan (Baylor University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, tallying one RBI and one run scored. Xaige Lancaster (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-3 with a double, recording one RBI, one run scored, and one stolen base. Riley Peterson (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) earned the win throwing 5.2 innings with five strikeouts allowing four hits, three walks, and two runs.

Royal Oak 6, Kenosha 5

The Royal Oak Leprechauns held off a late push from the Kenosha Kingfish to win 6-5 in a tightly contested game. Tristan Crane (Eastern Michigan University) went 1-for-3 with a double, tallying two RBIs and one run scored. Ryan Tyranski (University of Cincinnati) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI. Tyler Horner (Seattle University) went 1-for-2 with a double, recording one RBI, one run scored, and one stolen base. Nick Brady (homas University) earned the win throwing one inning allowing two walks, two runs, and one hit. Ethan Lapointe (Eastern Michigan University) got the save throwing one scoreless no-hit inning with one strikeout allowing one walk.

Traverse City 11, Battle Creek 2

The Traverse City Pit Spitters dominated late to defeat the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 11-2. Grady Mee (Western Michigan University) drove in four runs, scored once, and stealing one base. Cade Collins (Wofford College) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, recording two RBIs and two runs scored. Jake McNamara (Palm Beach Atlantic University) went 2-for-4 scoring once with two RBIs. Cole Prout (Central Michigan University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Alfredo Velazquez (Wayne State University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, scoring three times. Nic Mirabella (Maryville College (TN)) earned the win throwing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts allowing one hit and one walk. 

Eau Claire 2, Duluth 1

The Eau Claire Express edged out the Duluth Huskies 2-1 in a low-scoring pitchers’ duel. Gabe Richardson (University of Minnesota-Duluth) went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Jake Busson (University of Illinois – Chicago) went 1-for-4 with one RBI. McGwire Turner (University of Montevallo) went 1-for-4 with a double and scored once. Jake Downing (Cal Poly University) went 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once and stealing one base. Dawson Hargrove (Arkansas State University) earned the win throwing five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts allowing two hits and two walks. Kenneth Fistler (Alma College) got the save throwing four innings allowing three hits and one run.

Kalamazoo 14, Rockford 5

The Kalamazoo Growlers powered past the Rockford Rivets 14-5 with a relentless offensive display. Mike Sprockett (Belmont University) went 2-for-3 with a double, recording four RBIs and one run scored. Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe (Kent State University) went 2-for-4 with a double, tallying one RBI, scoring twice, and two stolen bases. JD Crisp (Xavier University) went 2-for-2 with a double, driving in one run, scoring twice, and stealing one base. Mankato 4, Bismarck 1

The Mankato MoonDogs used a big third inning to take down the Bismarck Larks 4-1. Collin Jennings (University of Illinois) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and one stolen base. Anthony Avalos ( University of Houston) went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base. Ricardo Aponte (Indiana University (PA)) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Caleb Koskie (Indiana University) earned the win throwing eight innings with seven strikeouts allowing three hits, two walks, and zero earned runs. Augden Hallmark (Midland (TX) CC) got the save throwing one perfect inning striking out two of three batters faced.

Waterloo 7, Thunder Bay 5

The Waterloo Bucks rallied past the Thunder Bay Border Cats 7-5 with a steady comeback effort. Larry Edwards (McNeese State University) went 1-for-4 with a double, recording two RBIs, two runs scored, and four stolen bases. Cole Smith (Northern Illinois University) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and one stolen base. Mitchell Iliff (University of Sioux Falls) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and one stolen base. Corey Morro (U of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) went 1-for-4 scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. The La Crosse Loggers dominated the Rochester Honkers 13-2 with a powerful offensive showing. Joseph Quelch (Georgia Gwinnett College) went 4-for-6 with a solo home run and a double, recording four RBIs and two runs scored. Kedren Kinzie (University of Hawaii) went 3-for-5 with a double, tallying one RBI, three runs scored, and one stolen base. Wisconsin Rapids 13, Lakeshore 6

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters cruised past the Lakeshore Chinooks 13-6. Jake Beauchaine (Saddleback CC) went 2-for-3 with a grand slam, tallying four RBIs, one run scored, and one stolen base. Hiroto Kobayashi (Lewis-Clark State College) went 1-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs, scoring once, and stealing two bases. The Willmar Stingers dominated the St. Cloud Rox 12-1. Armani Guzman (West Virginia University) went 2-for-4 with a double, recording four RBIs and one run scored. Joey Craig (New Mexico State University) went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double, scoring three times. Matthew Pena (Cal State Northridge) went 1-for-2 with a double, driving in one run and scoring once. Liam Bushey (Western Illinois University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with one RBI.
