Wednesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 12 games. The St. Cloud Rox surged late in the game to power past the Willmar Stingers 8-2.

Rockford 7, Battle Creek 0

The Rockford Rivets blanked the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 7-0 behind a dominant all-around performance. Joey Appino (Carroll University) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a three-run home run, tallying four RBIs, one run scored, and one stolen base. Gavin Taylor (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) went 1-for-4 with a triple, driving in one run and scoring once. Cooper Hinson (Marshall University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and scored twice. Sean Sweeney (Binghamton University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base.  Jake Storey (University of Northern Colorado) earned the win, throwing 7.1 scoreless innings with eleven strikeouts, allowing five hits.

Thunder Bay 6, Duluth 5

The Thunder Bay Border Cats held off a late push to take down the Duluth Huskies 6-5. Devon Smith (Montreat College (NC)) went 2-for-4 with a double, driving in one run, scoring once, and stealing one base. Duncan Key (U of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one stolen base. Corey Motto (U of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI. Rowan Kelly (UC Santa Barbara) went 3-for-5 with a double, recording one RBI, three runs scored, and one stolen base. Ethan Surowiec (University of Florida) went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Rylan Newman (Northern Oklahoma College) earned the win, throwing five innings with four strikeouts, allowing five hits, three runs, and one walk. Tyler Talbert (University of Texas-Arlington) got the save, throwing one perfect inning, striking out three of three batters faced.

Kalamazoo 10, Royal Oak 2

The Kalamazoo Growlers roared past the Royal Oak Leprechauns with a dominant 10-2 victory. Antonio Perrotta (University of Virginia) went 3-for-4, scoring twice with two RBIs. Mike Sprockett (Belmont University) went 1-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Noah Coy (University of Notre Dame) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI. Rocco Bernadina (Kent State University) earned the win, throwing six innings with five strikeouts, allowing five hits, one earned run, and one walk. Christian Forniss (Northwestern University) got the save, throwing one scoreless inning, striking out three of five batters faced, allowing one hit and one walk.

Rochester 7, Eau Claire 6

The Rochester Honkers held off a late push from the Eau Claire Express to secure a 7-6 victory. Max Aude (Pepperdine University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, driving in two runs. Miguel Cantu (Missouri Western State University) went 2-for-4 with a double, tallying three RBIs and one run scored. Jaxon Schumacher (Bradley University) went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run. Cort MacDonald (Stanford University) went 4-for-5 with a double, driving in one run, scoring once, and stealing one base. Gabe Richardson (University of Minnesota-Duluth) went 1-for-3, scoring once with two RBIs. Dante Vachini (Cal Poly University) went 2-for-4 with a double, tallying one RBI and one run scored. Patrick Schork (Saint Mary’s University (MN)) earned the win, throwing 2.1 innings with five strikeouts, allowing one hit, one run, and one walk.

La Crosse 9, Waterloo 4

The La Crosse Loggers exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning to power past the Waterloo Bucks 9-4. Griffin Olson (Morehead State University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs. Xander McLaurin (Cal Poly University) went 1-for-3, scoring once with two RBIs. Jackson Cobb (Georgia Gwinnett College) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Michael Barham (Murray State CC) went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, driving in two runs. Jack Ghufran (San Jose State University) earned the win, throwing 4.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts, allowing two hits and one walk.

Fond du Lac 10, Wisconsin Rapids 6

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders struck early and often, putting up 10 runs on 14 hits to defeat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 10-6. Thomas Googins (Princeton University) went 2-for-5, scoring three times with two RBIs and three stolen bases. Quinn Schambow (Oklahoma State University) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Camden Kuhnke (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 4-for-5 with a double, driving in two runs, scoring once, and stealing one base. Jonathan Fitz (University of San Diego) went 1-for-3 with a double, tallying two RBIs and one run scored. Kerim Orucevic (UC San Diego) went 2-for-5 with a double, recording two RBIs and one run scored. Noah Tschopp (Embry-Riddle (AZ)) earned the win, throwing six innings with five strikeouts, allowing two hits, two walks, and zero earned runs.

Green Bay 4, Wausau 3

The Green Bay Rockers used a three-run third inning to take control and held off the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for a 4-3 win. Joe Mennella (Wagner College) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. Aidan Kuni (University of New Mexico) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with one stolen base. David Ballenilla (Central Arizona College) went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Noah Malone (Loyola Marymount University) went 2-for-5 with a double, driving in one run and scoring once. Dylan Schlotterback (Paris JC) went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one stolen base. Cole Linton (Cloud County CC) earned the win, throwing six innings with three strikeouts, allowing seven hits, one run, and one walk. Evan Bogart (Cloud County CC) got the save, throwing three innings with two strikeouts, allowing three hits, two runs, and one walk.

Kenosha 3, Traverse City 0

The Kenosha Kingfish and Traverse City Pit Spitters battled to a pitching duel, with Kenosha scoring three runs in the first inning and holding on for a 3-0 shutout victory. Teige Lethart (Virginia Commonwealth University) went 1-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring once. Noah Alvarez (UC Irvine) went 2-for-2 with a double and scored once. Kyle Alivo (University of Iowa) went 1-for-4 with a double and one stolen base. Logan Borboa (Northern Colorado) earned the win, throwing 7.1 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, allowing four walks and two hits. Sam McArthur (Lake Land College) got the save, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk.

Lakeshore 3, Madison 1

The Lakeshore Chinooks struck in the fourth with a three-run inning to defeat the Madison Mallards 3-1. Grant Gray (UCLA) went 2-for-4 with a triple, driving in two runs. Bubba Heidler (Riverside City CC) went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Carson Hansen (University of Kentucky) went 2-for-4 with a triple. Arthur Liabau (Concordia University (WI)) earned the win, throwing seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts, allowing five hits and four walks. Michael Sullivan (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) got the save, throwing one perfect inning.

St. Cloud 8, Willmar 2

The St. Cloud Rox surged late in the game to power past the Willmar Stingers 8-2. Joshua Dykhoff (University of Kansas) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with three stolen bases. Levi Lampert (SW Minnesota State University) went 3-for-4 with a triple, driving in one run. Max Buettenback (University of Nebraska) went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs. Jaron Bleeker (University of Iowa) earned the win, throwing five innings with five strikeouts, allowing five walks, three hits, and one run.

Mankato 14, Bismarck 6

The Mankato MoonDogs exploded for 14 runs on 12 hits to overpower the Bismarck Larks 14-6. Caleb Wulf (University of Iowa) went 2-for-6 with a triple, tallying four RBIs and two runs scored. Caleb Koskie (Indiana University) went 2-for-5 with a triple, driving in one run and scoring once. Brandon Vlcko (Minnesota State University) went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and scored twice. Miken Miller (Johnson County CC) went 2-for-5, scoring once with two RBIs. Landon Dodge (Sacramento City CC) earned the win, throwing 1.2 innings with four strikeouts, allowing two hits, one run, and one walk.

Minot 4, Badlands 2

The Minot Hot Tots held on for a 4-2 win over the Badlands Big Sticks. Rowan Felsch (UC Irvine) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, tallying three RBIs. Anthony Temesvary (Columbia University) went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Samson Pugh (Texas State University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and one stolen base. Hogan Shelby (Long Beach State) earned the win, throwing five innings with three strikeouts, allowing four hits, two runs, and two walks.
