Wausau 13, Madison 10

The Wausau Ignite handed the Madison Night Mares their first loss of the season, outlasting the previously unbeaten squad 13-10 in a high-scoring showdown. Mia Johnson (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) had a monster outing at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and seven RBI. Brynn Daniel (Northwestern State University) went 1-for-3 with a home run, recording two RBI and two runs scored. Claire Calmes (University of Wisconsin) finished 3-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Megan McGinnis (Saint Mary’s University (MN)) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, one RBI, and one stolen base. For Madison, Ava Carroll (University of Washington) was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, five RBI, four runs scored, and two stolen bases. Mickayla Tosch (Wichita State University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double, while Amari Braden (University of Pittsburgh) finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Zoey Mills (East Florida State CC) earned the complete-game victory, throwing seven innings with four strikeouts while allowing 14 hits, six earned runs, and three walks.

Madison 13, Wausau 5

The Madison Night Mares bounced back in a big way, defeating the Wausau Ignite 13-5 behind a 16-hit offensive attack. Madison broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning before adding four more in the seventh to secure the win. Ava Carroll (University of Washington) went 3-for-5 with a double, driving in three runs, scoring three times, and stealing one base. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin) went 2-for-4 with a home run, recording two RBI and two runs scored. Danielle Lucey (University of Wisconsin) finished 3-for-5 with a home run, driving in three runs and scoring twice. Kendra Lewis (Oklahoma State University) went 3-for-4 with a home run, adding two RBI and two runs scored. Kyra Smith (Colorado State University) went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, driving in two runs and scoring twice. For Wausau, Mia Johnson (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 2-for-3, scoring twice and driving in one run. Kendra Lewis (Oklahoma State University) earned the win, throwing four innings while allowing nine hits, four runs, and one walk. Ryan Maddox (University of Washington) picked up the save with two perfect innings, striking out two batters.

Grand Forks 15, La Crosse 10

The Mankato Habaneros rallied past the Minot Honeybees 10-6, erasing an early deficit with a six-run third inning to take control. Mankato held off a late push to complete the comeback and secure the victory. Mattison Kwarta (San Diego State University) went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs, driving in three runs and scoring three times. Anna Elliot (University of Texas at Tyler) finished 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Audrey Reeves (McCook Community College) went 3-for-5 with a double, collecting five RBI and two runs scored. Sofia Meer (University of Pittsburgh) went 2-for-5 with a home run and a double, driving in three runs. Addison Craig (University of North Dakota) added a 3-for-5 performance, scoring twice and driving in one run. For La Crosse, Kaylie Frydenlund (SIU-Edwardsville) went 3-for-5 with two RBI, two runs scored, and one stolen base, while Trinity Gregg (University of Jamestown) went 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored. The Mankato Habaneros held off the Minot Honeybees 8-7 in a back-and-forth battle, scoring twice in the sixth inning to reclaim the lead. Olivia Pichardo (University of California) was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs, and scoring three times. Sailor Hall (Pittsburgh State University) went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, collecting four RBI. For Minot, Sara Simon (West Liberty University) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI, while Bridget Chapman (University of Delaware) finished 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Addie Garr (Augustana College (IL)) earned the win, tossing three innings with four strikeouts while allowing one hit and two walks.

La Crosse 15, Grand Forks 5

The La Crosse Steam erupted for eight runs in the second inning and never looked back, defeating the Mankato Spitfires 15-5 in six innings. The offensive outburst gave the Steam complete control as they cruised to the run-rule victory. Jackie Larsen (Bemidji State Unviersity) went 4-for-5 with a double, recording three RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Avary Makarewicz (University of Tennessee-Martin) scored once, drove in three runs, and stole one base. Kaylie Frydenlund (SIU-Edwardsville) went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Rachel Mori (UNC-Pembroke) earned the complete-game victory, throwing six innings with four strikeouts while allowing six hits, five runs, and four walks.
