Second Bluejay Lands in Waterloo

(WATERLOO, IA) The Waterloo Bucks announced the signing of Creighton freshman C.J. Rose. The 6’2″, 185-pound pitcher/outfielder joins fellow Creighton pitcher Bob Lackovic for the Bucks 15th season of play.

A 2008 graduate of Fort Zumwalt South High School, the St. Peters, Missouri native was named to the 2008 Rawlings Pre-season All-Region team. After his senior season, Rose was awarded with First-Team All-Conference, Third-Team All-Metro, Second-Team All-State, and Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Honorable Mention.

Bucks field manager Pete Lauritson has high praise for Rose.

“CJ is a talented two-way player that will fit into our 68 game schedule perfectly,” said Lauritson. “On the mound he will be the future closer for Creighton according to their coach Rob Smith and for us he will fit a middle relief role nicely by running his fastball between 88-91 mph. Rose will also get an opportunity to develop on at the plate because I will also play him in the outfield.”
