Valpo Righty Signs with ‘Chucks

(WAUSAU, WI) Bryce Shafer, a right-handed pitcher at Valparaiso University, has signed on to play for the Wisconsin Woodchucks this summer. Shafer carries a 6-3 record for the Crusaders (23-20).

Shafer, a 6’1” sophomore from Wabash, Indiana, is one of the Crusaders’ top starting pitchers. Through 11 starts he has pitched 69.1 innings, striking out 65 and walking 29. His 3.89 ERA is the lowest among the Crusaders’ regular starters, and he has also tossed two complete games.
