ROCHESTER, Minn. (June 9, 2012) — The Mankato MoonDogs take the lead in the North Division on Saturday night with their win over Rochester. 

La Crosse 2, Green Bay 5

The Bullfrogs were led by their catcher Mike Fischer (Columbia University). Fischer was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored for Green Bay. The Loggers and Bullfrogs play again on Sunday with a first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. 

Alexandria 11, St. Cloud 5

The Beetles were led by Dylan Raper (Oklahoma) who was 2-for-2  with three RBi and two runs scored. Raper also drew three walks in Alexandria’s win. These two teams have Sunday off. 

Willmar 5, Thunder Bay 7


The Border Cats jumped on top early, scoring all seven of their runs in the bottom of the first inning. Omar Cotto Lozada (USC) was 2-for-5 with two RBI for Thunder Bay.  These two teams square off again on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. ET in Thunder Bay. 

Rochester 0, Mankato 8

Kyle McGrath (Louisville) was dominant in the MoonDogs’ shutout. McGrath threw six shutout innings and struck out eight Honkers. Rochester and Mankato will play each other again Sunday in Rochester at 1:05 p.m.

Lakeshore 7, Wisconsin Rapids 2

The Chinooks were led by Ty Young (Louisville) who was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Young added a solo home run in the top of the ninth for Lakeshore. The Rafters and Chinooks will continue the series Sunday with the first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m.

Wisconsin 7, Battle Creek 8

Wisconsin couldn’t finish the comeback as they rallied for six runs in the top of the ninth, coming up one run short of tying the game. The Woodchucks and Bombers will continue again on Sunday in a 5:05 p.m. ET start. 

Duluth 11, Waterloo 10

Duluth came back with two runs in the top of the ninth to take the 11-10 lead. The Huskies were led by James Ramsay (South Florida) who was 3-for-6 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. Duluth and Waterloo will play again on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.

Madison 3, Eau Claire 6

The Express were led by their third baseman Josh Scheffert (Nebraska) who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and drew one walk. The Express will host the Mallards again on Sunday for a 3:05 p.m. start.
