(Wausau, WI) – The Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwood’s League announced today that Erik Supplee will return as Manager for the Woodchucks. Supplee managed the Woodchucks to a record of 43–27, including a 26–9 record in the second half of the season. That record was good enough to earn them the 2012 South Division second half title and a playoff berth. The 43 victories also set the Woodchucks franchise record for wins in a single season.
“The whole Woodchuck organization is excited to have Erik back for 2013 season” General Manager Ryan Treu said. “I believe Coach Supplee enjoys his summers in Wausau and wants to continue the winning tradition”.
The Woodchucks saw their record season come to the end as the La Crosse Loggers won the best of three series in the South Division Playoffs. The Loggers then went on to win the Northwood’s League Championship Series.
“Erik did a great job with the team” Owner Mark Macdonald said. “It was obvious that the players enjoyed playing for him and it showed in the win column.”
Supplee is returning for his second year as manager but his 3rd year as a coach in Wausau. Erik was hired as the teams pitching coach before the 2011 summer. Supplee currently is at Millersville University where he serves as the team pitching coach. Prior to Millersville University he spent two years at Lynchburg College serving as the teams pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. Supplee played four seasons at Division 1 Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
