DICKINSON, ND – The Badlands Big Sticks have signed middle infielder Zach Selfon to a contract for the 2024 season. The announcement was made by Vice President Jason Watson.

“We are excited to add the talented freshman to our roster for this season,” said Watson. “The move to the Northwoods League means that we get the chance to bring in more Big Ten guys like Zach.”

Selfon is currently in his first year at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) after graduating from Mahwah High School in New Jersey. During his final year in high school, Selfon slashed .489/.585/.618, earning him first team honors on the All-Bergen County and All-Patriot Division teams. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound freshman bats from the right side of the plate and plays both shortstop and second base.

“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season, getting to play the game I love in a new and exciting location,” said Selfon. “I can’t wait to meet my teammates and the fans this summer.”

Selfon is the second Big Sticks player and the first position player to be signed for the 2024 season.
