The Big Sticks came out swinging the bats and were able to out duel the best offence in the Northwoods League in the Willmar Stingers. 

Justan Autry (Alvin JC) started the game going two innings allowing three runs, then Ismael Quintero (Cal St LA went the next three innings allowing three runs as well, but the story was Kasen Mccawley going three innings and allowing just one run before two-way player Gavyn Schlotterback pitched a 123 9th inning notching his second save.  

The Stingers started the scoring off with a run in the 2nd inning with a run and the Big Sticks answered for three runs in the bottom of the 2nd, sparked by a Chayton Fischer (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) RBI double.

Willmar answered for three more in the top of the 3rd and Badlands went right back at it in the bottom half of the 3rd from a Troy Berg (Augustana University) RBI single and sac fly RBI from Ryker Schow (BYU).

The Stingers answered right back with another three spot in the top of the 4th inning and Badlands answered right back with two of their own in the bottom of the 5th inning from a 2-run home run from Zach Gingrich (Texas St) his first as a Big Stick to tie the game at 7-7.

The Willmar Stingers got another run in the 6th inning due to a balk and Badlands added two more in the bottom of the 6th inning. But Willmar kept fighting back for two more in the top of the 8th inning to take a 10-9 lead heading into the bottom of the 8th inning.

Badlands were done yet with a four spot to take a 13-10 lead sparked by a three-run bomb from Zach Gingrich (Texas St) which was his second homer of the night and capping off a huge division win for the Big Sticks.

Badlands are set for another six game road trip starting with Willmar on Tuesday and Wednesday after an off day tomorrow.
