DICKINSON, ND – The Badlands Big Sticks have announced the addition of right-handed pitcher, TJ Spitdowski to the roster for the upcoming 2024 season. He is the team’s third pitcher and fourth player to be signed.
Spitdowski, a fifth-year graduate student, attends LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. Since the start of the 2022 season, he has appeared in 19 games (21.2 innings), recording 14 strikeouts in those outings, and being charged with 15 earned runs. Last season, he held opposing hitters to a .218 batting average and had seven scoreless relief appearances.
“I’m looking forward to the new experience and opportunity to play baseball somewhere new while meeting new people and, potentially, lifelong friends,” said Spitdowski when asked about the upcoming Big Sticks season. “I also love the opportunity to continue playing baseball a little bit longer after I graduate from college.”
The 6-foot-two, 200-pound right-hander originates from Damon, TX, and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration. He has been named to the ASC Academic All-conference team in each of the past three seasons.
