Minot, ND- The Badlands Big Sticks split their series with the Minot Hot Tots this weekend, winning game 1 8-3 and losing game 2 16-4.

The Big Sticks were in control of game 1 from the start. They started off with a 4-run 2nd inning. Zach Selfon would start it off with an RBI single to center, and Troy Berg would follow up with a RBI double. Evan Appelwick would cap off the inning with a 2 RBI double. The Tots would respond with a Tristan Moore homer and a Nick Alonso RBI groundout but that would not be enough. The Sticks would put this game out of reach with a 3-run 8th inning with a Marcus Romero 3-run homer.

Game 2 on the other hand, was all Tots all the time. The 6-run 2nd inning was highlighted by a Lucas Pringle solo homer and a 3-run homer from Anthony Potestio. The 4th inning would give the Tots 3 unearned runs due to an error on Cooper Hill and a wild pitch. They would add on 3 more in the 5th with a Wyatt Reginato double, a Jonah Shields single, and an Adam Berghult sac fly. They virtually ended the game in the 6th inning with a 3-run homer from Caden Parker and a Potestio RBI double.

The Sticks are back at home against the Tots on Monday at 6:35.
