Dickinson, ND- The Big Sticks dropped game 1 of their double header today against the Mankato MoonDogs today 6-4

The MoonDogs lead this one off with a Coleman Mizell sac fly. Jeremiah Reddell settled back into the game for the Sticks, getting 2 strikeouts. Before he left the game in the 4th due two injury, he gave up a solo homer to Mizell. The Sticks got some momentum in the fifth inning on a Nathan Martinez RBI single that got Luke Shannahan across the plate. Joe Skapinetz finished out his stellar outing this inning giving up 4 hits and striking out 6.

The MoonDogs scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th to extend the lead to 5. Josh Alexander scored unearned after Cooper Hill misplayed a ball in left field. The other 2 runs in the inning came on a RBI single from Ty Rumsey and a sac fly from Mizell. The Sticks came within striking distance in the 9th after two batters were walked in. Cole Tabor hit a RBI single into left to make it a two run game, but Grant Garza settled in for the last out.

The Sticks will be playing game 2 of their double header today at 6:35.
