The game started on time but was stopped with one out and bases loaded in the top of the first inning with a rain delay. The delay lasted for one hour and 35 minutes. The Rafters took the third game of the series by a score of 9-4.

Anthony Sambula stepped in for James Jones to start up the game after the rain delay. He came into a bases loaded, one out situation. And Sambula had a guy fly out for his first batter and walked his second, which scored a run. And the afternoon did not start out good for Sambula, Quinton Perry hit a standup triple to clear the bases and the Rafters would lead 4-0.

Bottom of the second, with two outs Parker Berberet and Beau Didier both hit singles back to back, but were left on base.

Top of the third, with runners on first and second, Justin  Jirschele came up to bat and hit a grounder that went to the Josh Lyon and threw it to the Sambula who laid down with his glove on the bag for the out. The umpire originally called him safe at first but field manager Stan Eldridge came out to ask about the call and it was then reversed to an out.

With two outs and runners on first and third, Dan Holcomb went on the mound for the Bombers. His first batter he walked, to load the bases.  The Rafters, Smith steps up to the plate and got an RBI base hit, to put them up 5-0.

With runners on second and third Navarro Hall steps up to the plate and hits a ball deep to the outfield to score two Bombers and advance himself to second on the throw home. Eric Schultz got on base after being hit by a pitch and gets to third on a base hit by Sean Deegan. Josh Lyon hits a ball to short right to score Schultz, to bring the Bombers back in the game with a score of 6-3.

In the seventh inning the Rafters would come back to counter the Bombers runs and score three themselves. In the bottom of the ninth the Bombers had one player score, but lost 9-4.

Schultz went three for four at bat, and Berberet went two for three while he was at the plate. The Bombers had four runs on 15 hits and one error, while the Rafters had nine runs on 13 hits and one error.

The Bombers will be on the road in Green Bay for a three game series starting Tuesday night. They will be back Friday night to play the Wisconsin Woodchucks and it is Jimmy Buffet Night, where we will have specials on drinks and food. Saturday is Super Splash Day so bring your water balloons and a towel and prepare to get wet at 1:05 p.m. Then after the 8:05 p.m. there will be the State Farm Fireworks Extravaganza!
