The Bombers drop game two of the second half and four of five in the series with La Crosse. Final score was 5-4.
The Loggers got five runs on seven hits and the Bombers scored four runs on three hits. The Loggers ended up with three errors.
Seth Mejias-Brean got a hit for the Loggers in the third inning. He was then moved up to third base by a grounder to the pitcher and then one to second base. The Bombers were able to stop La Crosse from letting any runs score.
In the fourth inning Navarro Hall lead off with a hit for the Bombers. Sean Deegan stepped up to plate for the Bombers and hit a stand up triple scoring Navarro Hall. So start off the fifth, Greg Garcia was hit by a pitch on the first ball he was thrown. Garcia was able to steal second base as Beau Didier got his third strike. Noble Enriquez hit to second base where Trent Fuller was able to catch it for the out and then throw to the short stop for the third out.
Cole Frenzel walked up to the plate and was able to smash one out of the park for a single homerun. That ties both teams at one. The Bombers had two outs in the bottom of the inning and Eric Schultz was walked to get on base. Schultz advanced to second on a stolen base. Deegan had a 2-2 count and was awarded a base for interference from the catcher.
Tony Mueller was able to get on base with a walk and then Mike Marjama was hit by a pitch, putting runners at first and second, with no outs. Frenzel also walked, which loaded up the bases. A Logger was able to score on a passed ball that was lost under the catcher.
Enriquez was the first batter up for the Bombers in the eighth inning and was put on base with a walk. Parker Berberet came in to the game and sacrificed bunted, but the fielders juggled it and were not able to get him out. A wild pitch was able to advance both runners putting them at second and third. Navarro walked to load up the bases for the Bombers. Schultz had a base hit that would score two runners putting them back on top by a score of 3-2. Hall moved up on a ball that the catcher could not get a grip on to put the runners on first and third. Another Bomber would go across home to make it 4-2.
Trent fuller was first up for the Loggers in the ninth and had a lead off double. Brett Bishop came in to back for Derrick Thomas and hit a sacrifice bunt to make the score 4-3. Kendall Thamm came out to pitch for the Bombers and loaded the bases up. And the Loggers would tie it up with a sacrifice fly. A wild pitch would score another run and put La Crosse ahead in the top of the ninth.
The Bombers were not able to come back with any runs in the ninth and lost the game 5-4.
