The Battle Creek Bombers Baseball Club announced today that Rick Lindau has resigned as the team’s General Manager, effective September 15, 2010.

Lindau, who along with team owner and League President Dick Radatz, Jr., brought the Bombers to Battle Creek as a Northwoods League expansion franchise in January 2007. Lindau has served the team in the role of General Manager since its inception over 3 ½ years ago.

“It is with mixed emotions that I leave my position with the Battle Creek Bombers and the Northwoods League,” said Lindau.  “We’ve made some terrific progress in many areas of our operation since coming to Battle Creek, and I am proud of the accomplishments that we as an organization were able to make.

“And along the way, I have made many friends and developed some wonderful relationships with many of our sponsors and fans. I would like to thank those who have supported the Bombers these last four seasons and wish the organization nothing but the best going forward.”

Lindau came to Battle Creek after spending three years in the Northwoods League office (Rochester, MN) as Director of Operations. A sports administration veteran of nearly twenty years working in professional and collegiate sports, Lindau is pursuing career opportunities outside of baseball.

“We will miss Rick and all he brought to the Bombers.  I have known Rick for about 25 years and I am confident he will be successful in whatever he sets his mind to,” said Radatz.

The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America.
