The Battle Creek Bombers are excited to add another Division I athlete to their 2011 roster with the signing of University of Arkansas pitcher/outfielder Nolan Sanburn.
Nolan Sanburn: 6’0-185, R/R, RHP/OF, Univ. of Arkansas (Fr.), Kokomo, IN.
Sanburn is embarking on his freshman campaign with the Razorbacks in 2011 after a stellar high school career in Indiana, which included being taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 34th round of the 2010 MLB Draft.
Arkansas Head Coach Dave Van Horn says “he has a tremendous arm and could be used in the closer role. Nolan is a very good athlete…he could be a two-way guy for us…whether that’s as an outfielder, catcher, starting pitcher, or reliever.”
On the mound, Sanburn is already throwing in the low 90s and will see significant time in the outfield for Arkansas this spring.
“Nolan is a very talented young man. We were very excited to land him this offseason. He is extremely versatile and you will probably see all over the field this summer for us.” said Bombers GM Brian Colopy.
The Bombers are set to begin their 5th season on June 1, 2011 in the Prestigious Northwoods League. For tickets, fans can call (269)962-0735 or visit www.BattleCreekBombers.com.
