After Monday night’s 7-6 comeback victory for the Bombers, the Green Bay Bullfrogs hit back and evened up the series, demolishing the Bombers 9-3 on Tuesday evening at Johannes Stadium.
The Bombers trailed the entire game, going scoreless until the seventh inning where Matt Hitt scored from third base on a passed ball, and Ryne Otis came across on an RBI single from Daniel Rockett (his fifth of the season),tying Jimmy Martinez for the team lead. Never one to call it quits, Troy White knocked a double into the left-centerfield in the ninth, bringing Hitt home from second before the Frogs sealed the deal.
In his second start of the 2011 season, Matt Dearden threw into the fifth inning, surrendering five runs and five hits, fanning three and walking five in the process. Tyler Thicke and Mitch Bowers provided relief and gave up four cumulative runs.
The three-gamer wraps up tomorrow night in Green Bay, where the Bombers will attempt to win their third consecutive series of the young season. Chad Jasman, from the University of Michigan, will pitch on the hill for Battle Creek in his second start.
