The Bombers broke their three-game losing streak tonight in a resounding 7-3 victory over the Waterloo Bucks, snapping their five-game winning streak in the process and re-gaining a share of the Southern Division lead. The Bombers now lead the season series 3-1.

Battle Creek, true to form, came out of the gates strong, scoring four runs in the first inning when Brett Wiley walked with the bases loaded, Bobby Buckner hit a sacrifice fly, and Jordan Dean sliced a line drive into centerfield bringing around two more. Waterloo went scoreless until the third inning when Andrew Ewing scored on a wild pitch by Bombers starter Matt Dearden. Despite the Bucks efforts to climb back late in the game, Dan Dispensa finished the job with a two-RBI triple in the eighth, and the win was capped with a Bryce Redeker solo homerun in the ninth.

Matt Dearden threw into the sixth inning for Battle Creek and allowed just two runs, while Scott Mariner and Ryan Halstead tossed in relief, and Kristian Calibuso picked up his fifth save.

The Bombers wrap up the six-day road trip tomorrow in Waterloo at 3:05pm against the Bucks. Fans can hear the live play-by-play at www.battlecreekbombers.com with Voice of the Bombers, Greg Talbott, calling the action.
