The Waterloo Bucks left this weekend’s series even a 1-1, destroying the Bombers 11-3 at Riverfront Stadium in Iowa.

The Bucks continued their habit of binge-scoring on opponents, batting through the order and scoring six runs against Bombers starter Troy Forton in the second inning. They would also have a three-run inning in the fifth, and brought home individual runs in the fourth and sixth. The Bombers scored their trio of runs in the sixth on back-to-back singles from Brett Wiley and Rhett Goodmiller.

Forton only went two innings for the Bombers before being replaced by John Morrision and Scott Simmons, who went the last seven innings and gave up five collective runs.

The Bombers have completed their longest roadtrip of 2011, going 2-4 this time around. They return home to C.O. Brown Stadium tomorrow to open a six-game homestand, beginning with three games against the La Crosse Loggers. Fans can watch the games live on www.battlecreekbombers.com and www.nwltickets.com with Voice of the Bombers, Greg Talbott, calling the action.
