The Bombers finished off their season series with the Waterloo Bucks with a 5-1 win on Monday.
Danny Rockett lit up Waterloo’s staff for 4 RBIs, three of which came in the first inning when he belted a homerun into left field. In addition to Rockett, Jordan Dean (RBI) and Troy White also had multi-hit games.
Troy Forton, knowing the bullpen has been stretched to the limit, dug deep and threw six-innings of one-run ball, allowing just four hits while striking out four and walking one. Scott Simmons threw two scoreless innings of relief, while Kristian Calibuso finished off the Bucks in the ninth.
The Bombers now return home to C.O. Brown Stadium for back-to-back doubleheaders against the La Crosse Loggers: four games in two days, before doing the same in Eau Claire on the road later in the week as part of the season’s final roadtrip. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 6:05pm.
