The Bombers completed their third sweep in a row last night, winning their 7th straight game, this time 3-2 over the Madison Mallards to complete the regular season.

Both teams scored a pair of runs in the first inning, Battle Creek scored theirs off a Danny Rockett sacrifice fly and a single from Jimmy Martinez. The game stayed scoreless until the seventh when Brett Wiley tripled and was brought home when Troy White launched a fly ball into right as another sacrifice, which turned out to be the winning run.

Battle Creek’s pitching staff piggybacked to the victory, with starter Chad Jasman (two runs allowed), Brian Kirschbaum, and Brian McCabe (win credit) all throwing three innings en route to the win.

The Bombers embark on their first-ever playoff run Monday in Green Bay against the struggling Bullfrogs before coming home to C.O Brown Stadium with homefield advantage for games two and three.
