Northwoods League Alum Adds to Experienced Front Office Staff
BATTLE CREEK, MI--The Battle Creek Bombers are pleased to announce the recent hiring of Ryan Sturm as the team’s new Assistant General Manager.
General Manager Anthony Iovieno made the announcement on behalf of the Bombers organization. Iovieno added, “Ryan is an excellent addition to our staff for the 2014 season. He has great experience working within our league and will undoubtedly help take this franchise to the next level”.
Sturm boasts a wealth of Northwoods League experience, with previous stops at the St. Cloud River Bats and the Rochester Honkers. Ryan is highly experienced in group hospitality, as well as corporate partnerships.
Sturm was incredibly excited to return to the Northwoods League and organized baseball with the Battle Creek Bombers organization. Sturm stated, “It’s an honor and a privilege to be working in the Northwoods League and for the Battle Creek Bombers.” Sturm added. “I am very excited to get started and bring my experiences to make this a memorable year.”
The Battle Creek Bombers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including MLB All-Stars Max Scherzer (DET), Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYY), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
