BATTLE CREEK, MI– Some of America’s best collegiate baseball stars will arrive in Battle Creek this summer to become members of the Battle Creek Bombers.  In anticipation of their arrival, the Bombers are looking for families located within the greater Battle Creek area that seek a unique and memorable opportunity to host one of these talented players.  If you are a fan of baseball or simply wish to make a meaningful impact in a young man’s life, the Bombers urge you to apply to become a host family today.

Host families are an integral part of the Bombers ability to function each season, and the benefits of becoming a host family are outstanding.  Bringing a Bombers player into your home not only creates a fun summer environment for the whole family, but often establishes life-long positive relationships.  Players often become role models for children, while positively impacting their summer families.

The requirements to become a host family are rather simple, while the rewards are impressive.  Host families are required to provide a bed and room for their players, food when they are home, and laundry facilities.  The majority of players will arrive towards the end of May and leave the second week of August.  Just for becoming a host family, you will receive unique benefits that are not available to anyone else.  Your entire family will receive complimentary season tickets and will be invited to special events including multiple post-game potlucks with the team.

A former host family of the Battle Creek Bombers added, “We love baseball. Opening our home to the young men on the Battle Creek Bombers team has been a great experience.  We not only get to know wonderful kids from across the country but we support our local community as well.  The Battle Creek Bombers players have made summertime in Michigan extra special.”

If you have any questions or interest in becoming a host family for the upcoming 2014 season please contact the Bombers Host Family Coordinator, Bonnie Conant.  She can be reach by phone at 269-317-7045 or by email at BonnieJC44@aol.com. You can also give the office a call at 269-962-0735 or email the front office at info@battlecreekbombers.com.

The Battle Creek Bombers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Playing its 21st season of summer collegiate baseball, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 18 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind. A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 115 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (DET) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (CWS), Jordan Zimmermann (WAS), Curtis Granderson (NYM), Allen Craig (STL) and Ben Zobrist (TB).
