Bombers Partner With God’s Kitchen of Battle Creek to Help Feed the Hungry

Battle Creek, Mich. – The Battle Creek Bombers are excited to announce a very special partnership for the 2014 season home opener on Thursday, May 29th against the Kalamazoo Growlers. The team has united with the nonprofit charity, God’s Kitchen – Battle Creek.

God's Kitchen – Battle Creek is the first weekly evening soup kitchen in the city's history. The hunger relief agency was incorporated in January of 2011, and began serving meals on October 11, 2011 at First Baptist Church. Since that time, more than 73,000 meals have been consumed by low-income children, individuals, families, the homeless and senior citizens. Additionally, the charitable organization was recognized by the United States Congress with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition for feeding the hungry and senior citizens.

Assistant General Manager Ryan Sturm made the announcement today, adding, “We are very excited to partner up with Pastor Stein and Gods Kitchen – Battle Creek for the home opener.   With his tireless efforts within the community, Pastor Stein is the type of man that a community should rally around. We are always looking for new ways to get involved and get our fans involved in the community and we are excited to start the season off with such a meaningful event.“

2014 marks the first year that God’s Kitchen – Battle Creek has partnered with the Battle Creek Bombers. The following statement from God’s Kitchen-Battle Creek was released in conjunction with the recent announcement, “God's Kitchen – Battle Creek is honored to welcome the Battle Creek Bombers organization to our family. As a Community Partner, we are confident that they will continue to support efforts to feed the hungry in the Cereal City."

As part of the agreement, God’s Kitchen – Battle Creek will be selling fundraising tickets to the Bombers home opener, scheduled for Thursday, May 29th.  Partial proceeds from each ticket packaged sold by God’s Kitchen representatives will benefit the kitchen directly.  Opening Night should be a popular event, as a Jersey Giveaway is also scheduled, as well as an appearance by the hilarious Inflatamaniacs.

If you have a non-profit, charity, or worthy cause that you would like to team up with the Bombers to support, please contact the Bombers Front Office at (269) 962-0735 or email info@battlecreekbombers.com to learn how to start your own Fundraiser with the Bombers today.
