Battle Creek, Mich. — The Kalamazoo Growlers just seem to have the Bombers number this year. The new rivals of the Bombsquad have only lost once in their head-to-head matchups and their winning ways continued today.  Behind the efforts of Ryan Smoyer the Growlers spoiled the Bombers return home from Wisconsin in a 3-0 victory.

Andrew Mitchell (LSU) gave up just one bad pitch in his start for the Bombers, unfortunately for him it was a three-run bomb to left field with two men on. That three run shot was the only scoring done on the day for both teams.

The Bombers, who returned early this morning from Wausau, Wisconsin, just could not get anything going at the plate throughout the course of the game despite holding the potent Growler offense largely in check.

Battle Creek will head to Kalamazoo tomorrow for game two of the home and home series. First pitch 5:05.
