Battle Creek, Mich. – In the final home game of the season at C.O. Brown Stadium, the Bombers looked a bit nervous in their "Christmas in August" jerseys.

By the time the fourth inning rolled around, that was no longer the case as everyone started hitting and the Bombers went on to win 8-5 in front of a big crowd.

Edgar Sanchez (Cedar Valley Junior College) was great on the mound for Battle Creek. In his second start of the season, it began similar to his previous one in Waterloo where the defense was making errors left and right.

The guys settled down, as did Edgar, and the offense perked up at the right time. Sanchez ended up going eight innings strong allowing three earned runs.

The offense was led by Cody Kuzniczci (Northern Kentucky) who has been red hot at the plate of late, batting .425 in his last 10 games. Cody added to that, going 4-5 on the day including two doubles.

Colby Bortles (Ole Miss) also had a good day at the plate, going 3-4 with a hit-by-pitch and a three RBIs.

The Mallards were shut down during the middle innings and tried to make a push in the eighth with a homerun off the bat of Alex Bacon, but it was too late.

After the win, the Bombers finished off the season at C.O. Brown Stadium at 22-14, eight games over .500.

Battle Creek finishes their season up with a two game series in Kenosha. Game one will be tomorrow, a 7::05 ET first pitch.
