BATTLE CREEK, MI – It's Opening Week in Battle Creek and the OnStaff Group Recruiting Trail is excited to announce three players from overseas will be joining the team this summer. Justin van Berkel, Chi-Ping Wu, and Yu-Hsuan Chen are the latest additions to the 2016 roster.

Justin van Berkel: 6'0", 175 lb, RHP, Sophomore, (Bats: R/Throws: R), Netherlands

van Berkel is one of four players from the Collegiate Baseball League Europe (CBLE) selected to play Northwoods League. His brother, Marijn, will be joining the Rockford Rivets this summer. He played for the Vienna Emperors last summer where he struck out 8 in 15 innings pitched. The Bombers look forward to the righty's contribution to the team's pitching rotation.

Chi-Ping Wu: 6’2”, 180 lbs, RHP, Sophomore, (Bats: R/Throws: R), Taiwan

Wu is entering his first season with the Battle Creek Bombers. Wu pitches for the National Taiwan Sport University in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Wu’s pitching arsenal includes a curveball, splitter, slider and a fastball that maxes out at 92 miles per hour.

Yu-Hsuan Chen: 5’10”, 164 lbs, RHP, Sophomore, (Bats: L/Throws: R), Taiwan

Chen is also entering his first season with the Bombers. Chen is also a member of the National Taiwan Sport University baseball team in Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Chen brings a three-pitch arsenal to Battle Creek that includes a slider, curveball and a fastball that tops out at 89 miles per hour.
