Wausau, Wis. – The Battle Creek Bombers had the bats red hot at Athletic Park, recording 18 hits and five home runs in a 12-6 victory over the Wisconsin Woodchucks. 

The Bombers (9-4) would use the long ball to bring in runs, racking up five home runs between two players.  JD Mundy (Virginia Tech) would go 4-4 with three home runs and five runs batted in.  Alex Howard (Arkansas State) would hit home runs in the first two innings, finishing the day 2-4 with three RBIs.

Five different Bombers recorded a multi-hit game, with five players also driving in runs. 

Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) continued his hot start to the season going a perfect 5-5 with an RBI.  Stoffel is now hitting .442 as he is 19-43 at the plate. 

Logan Kaletha (Indiana University) went 3-6 with an RBI, recording his fourth multi-hit game.  Jacob Blunt (Clarke) finished his day 2-5 and Cody Hawken (University of Portland) would go 1-4 while driving in his seventh run of the season.

Left-hander James Rogers (Davenport) made his first start as a Bomber, picking up his first win as he went 6.0 innings allowing four runs on 11 hits. 

Relief pitchers Takoda Metoxen (University of Memphis), Alex Smith (University of Memphis), and Colton Bradley (Central Michigan) all came in for one inning of work.

The Woodchucks were able to rack up 13 hits, but stranded 11 on base.  Starter Gordon Cardenas (Auburn) would suffer his second loss, lasting only 2.0 inning while he gave up six runs on seven hits.  

The Bombers will start game two of their series in Wausau against the Woodchucks tomorrow evening.  Tune in to the pregame show on the Bombers Radio Network with Jake Hromada and Neil Doyle at 7:25 p.m. ET.
