Fond du Lac, Wis. – After trailing 4-0 through one inning at Herr-Baker Field, the Battle Creek Bombers scored six runs to defeat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 6-5.

The Bombers (18-12) used three home runs to come back and win their first game against the Dock Spiders (11-19).

BC took their first lead of the game in the eighth on a two-run home run from Cody Hawken (Univeristy of Portland), his second of the summer.

Justin Felix (Arkansas State) started the home run brigade with a solo shot in the fourth.  Felix finished the night going 1-3, as he also had a sac-fly RBI.

In the seventh, Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) blasted a two-run home run, as both him and Felix went back-to-back games with long shots.

Stoffel would end his night going 3-4 with the two RBIs, his 12th multi-hit and 8th multi-RBI game.

Battle Creek racked up 10 total hits, Alex Howard (Arkansas State) picked up two, with JD Mundy (Virginia Tech) and Nick Walker (Austin Peay State University) each having one.

Starter Alex Smith (University of Memphis) lasted only the first inning, as he allowed four runs on five hits. His bullpen would pick him up, as Takoda Metoxen (University of Memphis) and Taylor Horn (Wayne State University) combined for seven innings of work, allowing only one run on six hits.

Horn picked up his second win of the season, while Mark Quinby (UC San Diego) came in with a one-run lead in the ninth to pick up his third save.

The Bombers still sit in third-place in the south division, just a game behind second place Kenosha.

Game two against the Dock Spiders is set for tomorrow night at Herr-Baker Field, with first pitch scheduled for 7:35 ET.  Tune in to the pregame show on the Bombers Radio Network with Jake Hromada and Neil Doyle at 7:25 p.m. ET.
