Fond du Lac, Wis. – In a low scoring game with both teams only combining for nine hits, the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders scratched a 4-2 win over Battle Creek.

The Bombers (18-13) started with an early 1-0 lead in the second inning thanks to an RBI-single from Nick Walker (Austin Peay State University).  Walker would come back up in the third and drive in his second run of the game.  He ended the night going 2-4 with the two RBIs.

In a wacky second inning, Fond du Lac answered back with three runs on just one hit.  Most of the inning was played in rain, until a delay was finally called.  The delay would last 14 minutes until play was resumed. 

FDL (12-19) would get an insurance run in the eighth, scoring four runs on only three hits.

Christian Griffin (West Alabama) got the start for BC, lasting 7.0 innings and giving up two earned runs on just two hits.

Only three Battle Creek players recorded hits, with Alex Howard (Arkansas State University) going 2-4, his ninth multi-hit game.  His Arkansas State teammate Justin Felix would also go 2-4 with two singles.

Jake Hawken (University of Portland) tossed an inning of relief, allowing one run on one hit.

Battle Creek will continue their four-game road trip, as they head about an hour north to take on the Green Bay Bullfrogs tomorrow night.  Left-hander Jared Middleton (University of West Florida) will be on the bump for the Bombers.
