Battle Creek Mich. – The Battle Creek Burritos continued their winning ways, as they picked up their fifth straight win and sixth win over the Kalamazoo Corndogs 8-3.

The Burritos (34-22, 14-7) got out to an early lead in the OnStaff Group Rivalry game against the Kalamazoo Corndogs and cruised to a victory in front of a packed C.O. Brown Stadium.

Battle Creek got a quality start from right-hander Dakota Edwards (Cal State Stanislaus) who picked up his third win of the season.  Edwards shut down the Corndogs lasting 8.0 innings allowing no runs on five hits.

Edwards got early run support thanks to Justin Felix (Arkansas State) who drove in the first two runs for the Burritos.  Felix ended his night going 1-4, while his Arkansas State teammate Alex Howard finished 3-5 with an RBI.  The three-hit day was the 19th mulit-hit game for Howard, as he became the quickest player in the Northwoods to reach 60 hits this season.

Also picking up a three-hit day was Evan Faccenda (Clarke University), as he ended the night 3-4 with an RBI in his first multi-hit game.

Cody Hawken (University of Portland), Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech), and Gavin Homer (McHenry County College) each drove in runs as well.  Nikola Vasic (McHenry County College) picked up a hit going 1-3.

Wyatt Cross (Indiana University) completed the ninth out of the bullpen, even though he allowed three runs and walked three batters.

The Battle Creek Burritos will again take on the Corndogs tomorrow night in the OnStaff Group Rivalry game.  The season finale between the two rivals is set for 7:05 p.m. ET in Kalamazoo at Homer Stryker Field.

Tune in to the pregame show on the Bombers Radio Network with Jake Hromada and Neil Doyle at 6:55 p.m. ET.
