Kalamazoo, Mich. – The Battle Creek Burritos bats continued to be en fuego as they would take down their in-state rival the Kalamazoo Corndogs 14-6 in the OnStaff Group Rivalry game.

The Burritos (35-22, 15-7) extended their win streak to six games and used the home run ball in route to their seventh victory over the Corndogs as they would wrap up their season series.

Four different Burritos knocked home runs as they produced eight of the 13 BC runs.  Nick Walker (Austin Peay State University) started the home run brigade with a two-run shot in the first inning.  Aaron Antonini (Middle Tennessee State University) followed in the second with a solo home run.  It was Walkers third and Antonini’s first home runs.

Alex Howard (Arkansas State) hit his second home run at Homer Stryker Field and eighth of the year with a three-run home run in the fifth.  He finished his night going 2-4 with the three RBIs.

Cody Hawken was the last Burrito to go deep with a two-run bomb in the seventh, his fourth of the summer.  Hawken also ended his evening with a 3-4 and three RBI line.

All of the offense made for a solid start from left-hander Tyler Garam (Greensboro College) who picked up his first win of the season.  He lasted 7.0 innings and allowed just one run on six hits with four strikeouts.

Several other Burritos racked up hits as the team totaled 13 on the night.  Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) went 2-5 with two driven in, as his college teammate JD Mundy would go 1-3 with a single.

The Battle Creek native Gavin Homer (McHenry County College) finished 1-3.  Alec Trela (University of Memphis) also got in on the action with an RBI double in the ninth.

Tim Nelson (UC San Diego) and TJ Shook (Oakland University) came out the bullpen for BC, each tossing one inning.

The Burritos still remain atop the south division second half standings, as they will hit the road for a two-game road trip in Madison.  Game one against the Mallards is set for 7:35 p.m. ET from Warner Park.

Tune in to the pregame show on the Bombers Radio Network with Jake Hromada and Neil Doyle at 7:25 p.m. ET.
